Advantages: Easy to use, Cheap, Effective
Disadvantages: Only comes in small bottles
My boyfriend is a postman and on quite a few occasions he has little accidents! The most recent one ended with blood on his shirt. He trapped his finger in a letterbox and took a chunk of skin off. It wouldn?t stop bleeding and so doing the typical man thing; he wiped it all over his shirt! He then sent me off into town to find a stain-removing product, as my normal washing powder faded it, but never removed it! I headed off to my local Wilkinson?s store and that is were I found this product. It was cheap and one of the stains it can remove that was listed was blood! ******************************PACKAGING******* ***************************** This product comes in a small plastic bottle. The bottle is white in colour with a pastel green label, all the way around it. It has a green screw on lid. The label that covers this bottle gives you all the information that you need, including the name of the product, a list of stains it can be used on, the amount that is inside the bottle, a short product description and it?s directions of use. There is also a website listed, where you can go for advice. Once you have removed the lid, there is a sponge applicator over the opening. This is what is used to dispense the product onto the stain. It is light green in colour and once you have put the applicator over the stain you need to apply a light pressure, to release the solution inside. ***************************PRODUCT DESCRIPTION**************************** This product is bleach free making it ideal to use on all washable fabrics. It is safe to use on delicates such as silk and wool as well. The applicator allows you to control the amount of solution to use and it is this that will also help to loosen the stain. The solution inside the bottle is clear in colour and has the consistency of water. *********************************SMELL******** ****************************
** This product smells very clean and soapy! I cannot distinguish a particular smell, but it is very pleasant. It is not heavy or overpowering, but light and airy. ********************************STAINS IT REMOVES*************************** This product says it will remove the following stains: *Tea *Coffee *Milk *Gravy *Fruit juices *Wine *Beetroot *Jam *Cola *Tobacco *Blood *Sweat *Urine *Mud *Grime I have used this product on bloodstains and gravy stains along with every day grime on collars. *****************************DIRECTIONS OF USE***************************** You should always test a small area in an inconspicuous place first; to make sure that no colour is lost. As this is a bleach free product, it should not result in colour loss, but it is always best to check! *Scrape off any excess stain build up first. *Place a clean cloth under the effected area. *Dab the stain with the applicator. Ensure that the whole stain is covered with the solution. *Wash and dry the item in the normal way. For stubborn stains you can leave the product on for up to 30 minutes, before you wash it. This will help to lift the stain from the item. It is always best if you treat the stain, as soon as it appears. Leaving it to dry means the solution will have to be left on for longer, so that it can really get to work. If you treat a mark straight away it will prevent it from becoming a stain! *******************************EASE OF USE********************************** This product is very easy to use. All you have to do is remove the lid and put the applicator over the stain, apply light pressure to release the solution and then move the applicator over the whole of the stain. The harder you press on the applicator, the more solution you get! Saying this though, it does not run freely from the bottl
e, so you will never end up with more solution than you need. Even with the lid off, you can shake this bottle as hard as you like, if there is no pressure applied to the applicator, then no solution will come out! (Yes, I did try this) ***********************************PRICE****** ****************************** I do not know if this product can be bought from anywhere else. I didn?t look! I found it in Wilko?s and bought it straight away. I paid £1.49 or a bottle that holds 75ml. I think this is a fair price as the amount that you use means it will last for ages! ********************************MY OPINION********************************** I have to say that I wasn?t sure if this product would work, when I first bought it. I smelt it and thought it smelt too soft to be able to remove something as difficult as blood, but it has proved me wrong! The blood that was on my boyfriend?s shirt was spots all over. Like I said my washing powder faded it, but never removed it. I dabbed this solution all over the spots of blood, left it for about 10 minutes and then put the shirt in the washing machine. When the cycle had finished I expected to still be able to see the outline of blood spots, but I couldn?t! All of it had been removed. I then went in search of other stains to use this product on! Having four children in the house, I didn?t have to search for long! I found a sweater belonging to the eldest teenager and she had been moaning for a while that it had a stain on the sleeve. It was that minute I needed a magnifying glass to see it, but she is that picky it stood out like a sore thumb to her! I took the top, applied a bit of this solution to the stain and put it in the washing machine. Again, this solution removed the mark and left the sweater stain free. It put a smile on my teenager?s face, so it must be good. We are also in the middle of decorating at the moment and I noticed a bit of w
hite sealant on the new hallway carpet! It had been trodden in and I was really annoyed. We had paid a fair amount for the carpet and the white sealant was all gunky and had matted the carpet into a blob. Someone had trodden in it on the floor in the other room and had then walked into the hallway and it has gone onto the carpet. I got on my hands and knees and applied this solution to that. I left it on for 5 minutes and then got a clean cloth and wiped the mark. The white gunky stuff just lifted off and wiped away! I was very impressed. I am pleased to say that this product removed all the stains I had faced it with. It was easy to use and not once did it remove colour from any fabrics! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who regularly gets stains on their clothing, as it is kind and gentle yet brilliantly strong. If you have children, who are always marking their clothes, then I wouldn?t hesitate in buying this product. It removes lots of marks, with little effort from you and the price is definitely affordable. A must in my home, with four kids and a messy boyfriend!
