Fantastic kitchen cleaning with no chemicals (E-Cloths Starter Pack)

Advantages: lasts for ages, no need to buy chemicals and is really easy to use

Disadvantages: Not so good for soap scum

I bought my e-cloth from Lakeland, mainly because my mum needed to make the value of the order up in order to get free postage (or a free gift, or something like that) and it looked quite interesting. I am not very good at remembering to buy cleaning stuff, so the fact that all you needed was this cloth sounded ideal to me.

I find the texture stands my hair on end when it is dry, but when wet it is fine. It is brilliant for cleaning grease, I never use kitchen cleaner anymore, and it even cleaned the really stubborn sticky grease off the cooker hood without much effort. You put it in the washing machine to clean it, and it comes up great. It is recommended that you wash it at quite a high temperature (60 I think) however I wash everything at the lowest temperature that my washing machine will do (30 I think) and it comes out nice and clean. It is robust, I have been using mine for over a year now, and cleaned things like the rack thing off the gas hoob, which normally damages your dishcloth and it still looks like new.

I find it is not quite so good at cleaning soap scum from the bath, so use a tiny sprinkle of washing powder for that, but I have not bought any cleaning chemicals for over a year now, so that's got to be a good thing.

Summary: a really excellant cloth for cleaning the kitchen
