Not so tough on grease. (Ecover Washing Up Liquid)

Advantages: Smells nice, good for the planet and not tested on animals.

Disadvantages: Not the cheapest and doesnt cut through grease as well as fairy!

Washing up liquid is important to me, I like one that can really clean through tough stains and heavy grease without having to soak for too long or having to scrub too hard. For that reason I usually always buy fairy but on reading about Ecover washing up liquid a while ago I decided to give it a go.

Ecover has some certain things going for it in my eyes, with the main one being the fact that it is made of vegetable detergents (based on coconut oil) which are less toxic to aquatic life and which biodegrade completely making it better for the planet. Another thing I really like about Ecover is that it is in no way tested on animals.

It comes in two very fresh smelling scents, Camomile or Lemon and it is not too expensive if you shop around you can find it for around £1.11 which is only a few pennies more expensive than other top brands. So it is perfect then?? No it is not unfortunately, it does clean dishes well as long as they are not left to dry in but when it comes to greasy oven trays and the likes this stuff is no match at all for fairies super cleaning power.

So if you do not mind taking a bit more time to steep or scrub then this stuff is fine but if like me you enjoy an easy life and minimum effort then it will let you down, it really comes to weighing up the pro`s and con`s of Ecover!
