Advantages: Vegan variety available, Environmentally Friendly, Lasts ages

Disadvantages: Vegan variety hard to find in supermarkets

One of the ingredients of the "original" Ecover washing up liquid contains whey powder, derived from dairy products & therefore not suitable for vegans.

The "Aloe Vera and Lemon" variety is approved by the vegan society, and thus environmentally conscious vegans like myself can use it without guilt.

It is just as effective as the original liquid. A little goes a long way, and although it's true you don't get masses of suds, it does give you clean washing up.

I've been using it with absolutely no complaints for years. I probably only buy 2 or 3 bottles a year.

The downside is that it is not as readily available as the original variety, and you probably won't be able to find it in supermarkets. I asked our local health food shop to order it and have been purchasing it there ever since.
