... basket and gave my mum one. I love a runny boiled egg and toast for breakfast the odd time so i decided to have it the next day. I had read on the back of the packet that you have to place to egg timer in the fridge with your eggs so they are both at the same temperature. Cool, i thought and did this. The next morning when i was making my breakfast i popped two eggs and my cute little egg timer into water and started boiling my eggs. After about thirty seconds, i moaned to my boyfriend that it wasnt working as it...more

I had always wanted an egg timer as i love my little gadgets (and am also a bit of a nerd!) I had heard of this colour changing egg timer and seen them advertised for around £6. I thought that was a bit expensive and decided i would get one when they went down in price a bit. I was on Hot Uk Deals a few weeks ago and you can imagine my glee when i saw someone had posted an advert saying these egg timers were available for a pound in Poundland! I was really chuffed and couldnt wait to check out my nearest Poundland to see if they had any. I went down the next day and couldnt see any and had almost given up hope when i finally spotted them. I shouted ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Decent enough gadget (500 words)

INTRO Ironically i first heard of this product by someone on dooyoo and thought what a genius invention. Im a big fan of eggs and like to vary the way I cook them and boiled, even though extremely nice, tends to be avoided due to the messing about with them. For example, getting it runny but not raw is down to judgement based on times. You can read one method that has one time, and another claiming another. This little gadget seemed the perfect way of ensuring that the egg would be cook and to own taste. The reviewer on dooyoo had purchased this from a pound shop and so my next visit to the shops saw me check out the two poundland shops in the city ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Egg Perfect Colour Changing Egg Timer: How Do You Like Your Eggs? (583 words)
by - written on 02/09/09 (Very useful, 67 readings)

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband last year as he loves soft boiled eggs and as I never know how long to boil them for I thought this would be perfect (so it was a gift for me really...) The idea of the 'egg' is that you place it in the pan with the real eggs and it changes colour as time passes and tells you exactly when you need to take the eggs out, so you know when an egg is soft boiled or hard boiled, depending on what you want the eggs for. The 'egg' itself is about the same shape and size as a normal egg, apart from that one side is flat so it sits flush to the base of the pan, and it's made from some sort of plastic material. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Perfectly Boiled Eggs (326 words)

We bought this egg timer thinking it would be a useful gadget, and it has turned out to be quite good. It costs around £4.99 and you can buy it from good supermarkets such as Tesco as well as other kitchenware stores. It comes within a plastic packet on a piece of cardboard in the background. The item is shaped like an egg but flat on one side, so it rests on the bottom of the pan. You simply put it in the pan of water as soon as you put the eggs in before the water is boiling and it will work from there. The timer sinks to the bottom and simply rests there. It's made of such a material that obviously doesn't become damaged by the boiling ...  Read the complete review
