Advantages: Really good idea

I have an egg-timer but the sand always seems to get stuck. I thought one of these would be a great idea.

It is the size and shape of an egg with a flat bottom. It is transparent with a red base, with a white rim around the bottom edge. As it heats up, the white spreads upwards. There are lines marked on it for hard, medium and soft. So when the white spreads up to the 'soft' line, the eggs in the same pan should be soft-boiled. Simple.

The manufacturer says it adapts to the number of eggs in the pan. Wow.

So you put it in the pan with the boiling water and your eggs. And now you can't see the lines because of the water bubbles. Plus, it is at the bottom of the pan with water above it and it is hard to see the lines or where the white part is.

After one use the transparent part went cloudy and now it's really hard to see the lines.

Summary: So, back to timing them.
