I bought this as my kids had got a Nintendo Wii, I actually also bought a separate battery charger as well, that would charge 4 batteries up, then I just needed this small one, as I had 3 remotes I needed 6 batteries charging up. So this was ideal to go along with the 4 battery charger.
The charger is really pretty basic, it has the two slots at the front where the batteries are placed and at the back is the plug pins to plug it into any working plug socket. To charge the batteries up you just put the batteries into the charger plug it into the plug socket and then switch it on and leave it to charge. I find that an overnight charge is always best as it ensures that the batteries are fully charged up, although you could use them after just a couple of hours.
I find once charged up the battery life can vary depending on what they are used for, like for a remote for a Wii would only last a couple of hours but for a TV remote would last weeks, so it does depend on what you use them for.
I actually find this one a good charger also as it is only small and less bulky this would be easier to take elsewhere rather than the 4 battery charger, I would say now the kids do not go on the Wii as much that I do tend to use the 2 battery charger more than the other one, and 2 years later it is still working brilliantly and I have never yet had any problems with it. I paid £7.99 for this from Ebay and it came with 2 batteries included so I think I got myself a bargain.
***What is it***
This is a compact mini energizer charger that will charge 2 AA or AAA batteries at at time and comes supplied with 2 2000mah (the mah refers to the capacity of the battery, the higher the mah the higher the capacity of the battery) AA batteries, i purchased the unit for £9.99
This unit is suitable for charging any NIMH AA or AAA batteries 2 at a time, more suited to those who have few low consumption battery operated items
This was my first energizer charger that i purchased as it was on sale at the time for £9.99, it is a small compact design that can charge either two AAA or AA batteries at a time.
The charge times are considerably long (between 7.2hours and 14.8 hours depending on the size and MAH of the battery) though for the price paid it at the time was reasonable, it is great if you do not have many battery operated products as you can only charge two at a time otherwise it may hamper you when trying to find charged batteries for multiple items (mouse, keyboard, remote control etc.).
It has a green indicator light to let you know the batteries are charging and it comes with an auto switch off function so when you batteries are fully charged it will stop charging at the green light goes out and also has built in polarity protection so if you accidentally put the battery in the wrong way it will not be damaged.
I have had it over a year and have had no problems even when my brother accidentally put non rechargeable batteries in the unit.
AAA 850mah 10.2 hours
AAA 1000mah 12 hours
AA 1300mah 7.8 hours
AA 2000mah 12 hours
AA 2450mah 14.8 hours
** Energizer Rechargeable Mini Charger **
Everybody needs a battery charger! Well at least I do since we have a lot of batteries laying around. They aren't all chargeable but a few are and it's always handy to have a battery charger in the house. Normally we had a big clunky charger but since that one broke it was time for a modern small charger. We saw the Energizer Rechargeable Mini Charger and it looked fine for us. The price was ok and around 14 pounds which sounded reasonable.
The charger looks really small and it's a big difference with our previous one. With this one we should be careful that we don't lose it! We do have one place where we keep this one but you know how it goes. Within the day the charger is at somebody's room. The charger comes in grey on the front and is black at the back. It has a simple, clean but modern look. At the front you can place the 2 batteries and at the back is the plug part.
The charger is very easy to use and you just simply click the batteries into the front bit and then you simply plug the charger in. You will notice a red little light in front of the charger which will tell you that they are charging. When the light goes off then you know they are ready. I think it takes up to eight hour to charge the batteries which is a normal time. You get two 'free' AA batteries with this charger. You can also charge AAA batteries with this one.
Energizer Rechargeable Mini Charger is a good and small charger who does the job. It charge my batteries in a normal time and they always seem to work fine afterwards. The charger looks fine, is easy to use and is small. Maybe a little bit too small for people who needs more space for more batteries to charge but I don't have any problems with it.
I'm surprised people still sell ordinary batteries now. For years now I've used nothing but rechargeable ones, with the exception of the default batteries that come with devices (and I think my clock still has the same single battery it's had or the last four years).
I mean, all in all, rechargeable batteries are better. They might cost a bit more, but especially if it's something you use frequently - some sort of handheld gaming device (or wireless controller), or a digital camera or whatever, they come in very handy and end up saving you more than the price you originally paid for them.
Energizer were one of the first companies to make these and it's always been the company I've trusted with rechargeable. This is the "Mini Charger" kit, which, as the name suggests, is a smaller, more compact version of their chargers, designed only for AA or AAA batteries (while bigger ones can handle C and D sizes). Like all chargers they sell, this one comes with two AAs so you can start using them right away (after an initial charge time).
The device is less than 10cm tall and weighs in pretty lightly at under 500 grams. It's described as an "ideal starter kit", which admittedly is true. It only comes with two slots for batteries, so if you're like me and have loads of them in all kinds of devices, it's probably better to pick something up that can hold more.
Charge time is roughly ten to eleven hours and, while not incredibly fast, is good to leave on overnight. Just plug it into the wall and you're set. And at under nine pounds most places, it's really worth having it around, just in case.
I recently broke my digital camera and so I needed to buy a new one. My old camera had a special battery and charger with it so I was expecting similar from my new camera however this wasn't the case and it just needed normal batteries. I found that I was going through batteries at an alarming rate with it and as such decided that I should also buy a battery charger.
On a visit to Argos I decided to look for one and came across the Energizer Mini Charger which I think cost me around £12.99. I note on the Argos site now it is selling for £11.99. I decided to purchase this one as it was quite small, charged both AA and AAA batteries and came with two AA batteries as well. It seemed reasonably priced and it was a brand I trusted.
The charger is small and quite discreet really. It is silver on the front with a small Energizer logo and then there are spaces for AA and AAA batteries within it. The back is black and has the plug part and information about the model and things-you know all those codes we don't really know what they mean!
The battery charger comes with two rechargeable energizer AA batteries. You need to charge these before you use them at first really. The charger is very simple to use. You simply slot in your batteries so that they are both facing with the positive bumpy part of the battery upwards. You can then plug it into a plug and switch the plug on. There is a red LED light on the front of the charger which goes off when your batteries are charged. It apparently takes around eleven hours to charge the batteries but I tend to do this overnight so I don't really notice. I think the fact that it switches off when the batteries are charged is a really good thing though, so the batteries are not being over charged and so less electricity is being used.
I have noticed that once charged the batteries do seem to last a really long time. I often take my camera on nights and days out and it will last for a few of those before I need to charge them again-and I take a LOT of pictures when I go out!
I think in terms of others on the market this is a really reasonable priced product and something that is invaluable for someone like me who likes to take a lot of photos and whose camera likes to eat batteries for fun!
This is definitely recommended from me! 5 Dooyoo stars.
