Advantages: recycled paper

Disadvantages: a bit flimsier than the big brands

My new years resolutions for 2008 included the usual pledges, you know get thin, stop smoking, be more green and be an all round better person. I'm failing miserably on all counts, especially the green bit-I just like my car and all round lazy ways too much to change.

Changing my toilet paper is an easy way to up my green credentials, best of all there is no effort required on my part, slactivism at its best.

The envirosoft toilet paper is available in poundland, just a quid for four rolls means it's also about half the price of the brands that advertise using puppies and kittens leaving me more money to wate on frivolities. If you are really commited to the brand then you can also buy it from UK cleaning supplies at £12.99 for a pack of 40 but for once buying in bulk is more expensive.

The toilet roll itself is bog standard white loo roll. The only difference is that is made of 100% recycled paper, the tubes from post consumer waste and the plastic wrapper is recyclable. The brand holds the internationally recognised blue angel award for environmentalism. I've got no idea what that means in practice and will take their word for it that it's a good thing.

In everyday use the toilet paper performs just as well as any other I've used. It is a bit flimsy compared to the big brands but better than the value brands and still more than adequate.

Buying recycled toilet paper makes sense, just think of all the forests that are cut down just so we can wipe our backsides and flush the paper away, using recycled paper means this waste is cut down a bit.

Summary: Buying recycled toilet paper makes sense,

I used to think recycled toilet roll was made from used toilet paper - don't laugh - I was young and impressionable and that was what my Dad told me.
