“ Brand: Waitrose / Type: Liquid Laundry Detergent / Category: Laundry „
I love Waitrose but find it a little bit too pricey to be honest. I wander about in the store aimlessly thinking how much shopping is in places like Asda and begrudge spending more out on things that I know are cheaper elsewhere, but like I say I love the store and do tend to wander around it rather often!
With Waitrose now launching an 'Essentials' range I have found that I can get a few bits and pieces without breaking the bank and that the stores now has a few offers on too! This is a prime example of an 'Essential' product and was on offer andt his detergent is usually £3.00 a bottle but was on offer (at the time I purchased it) for £1.50 and so I actually picked up a couple of bottles believing instantly that as it was a Waitrose product it was bound to be fabulous and that I had snaffled yself a bargain!
Well I purchased this like I say on offer and the size of the bottle is 735ml and its a white plastic one with a screw on/off cap/lid to the top of it and on the front there are some green circles depicted and we are told that it is Essential Waitrose Biological Laundry Liquid Wash '2 concentrated' and that it is tough on stains, effective on a 30c wash and that this size bottle contains 21 washes (ish). On the back of the bottle other information given includes being given directions for use, warnings and the size is stated and contact details for Waitrose are listed. It's a rather cheap looking bottle but it is from a economy range to be fair to it and I do like the slight dent in the middle of the bottle for ease of handling!
The instructions for using the washing detergent are really well laid out and understandable on the back of the bottle. You simply use the dark green transparent liquid in an automatic machine, though you can use it for handwashing too if you want to. You are meant to measure the liquid out using the cap provided on the bottle and to put it straight into the machine drawer with no need for pre washing (or into a bowl of water for handwashing of course).
How much you use depends on the amount of washing you do and the water type in your area. As a rough guide, in my machine I use one full cap for a huge and full wash. This is only a washing detergent so if you desire you can of course you a fabric softener/conditioner (which I totally recommend).
The fragrance of this is light, floral and sweet but rather nice and very fresh indeed. However that fragrance alone doesn't freshen my clothes up enough once washed and so I do always use a fabric softener in conjunction with this.
I have used this for hand washing and machine washing alike and basically found it so so. Providing I use the right amount of product and set my machine to the right cycle I get my clothes clean enough. Like I have said it doesn't fragrance/soften fabrics very well at all and I did, when I first got this used it without a fabric softener within the wash and my clothes just felt a bit squeaky and hard so never now do I not use fabric softener.
This to me is a very economy liquid detergent. It's ok but it's cheap stuff simply sold by Waitrose. I'm not disappointed by its cleaning capabilities really, I've had no problems at all in that department and I have found it to remove grease and grime very well from both mine and my bestmate/flatmates clothes and bedding and stuff but I am disappointed that it doesn't seem to care for fabrics by giving them a soft bouncy feel and nice lingering fragrance!
Not awful but it never set my world alight either! Lol.
