Advantages: It was the only one that worked!

Disadvantages: If they get wet in the bag they dissolve.

THE STORY OF MY SNOB OF A DISHWASHER

I have to admit I'm a cheapskate, if I can avoid buying a expensive brand I will and usually stick to Tesco Value and Lidl. This gives my poor conscious some sort of peace when I splurge on ridiculously priced wonder creams... At least I'm eating 23p frozen peas for dinner...

But my dishwasher has been the bane of my existence, yes I should take it to the dump and hack it into unrecognizable pieces which should then be burned and spread to all the four corners of the earth! But I digress..
Maybe it is just upset at me for all the cheap s**t I pour into it, it would constantly leave the powder or tabs in a congealed clump inside the little compartment without even bothering to give it a go! Such pretentiousness!

So I finally caved in and looked for a new brand....Hmm after many brainwashing aids on TV about the "Diamond Standard" I decided to go with Finish, after all that's how I wanted my glasses to look like! DIAMONDS, not a dirty fish tank.
Well my snob of a machine decided it didn't fancy the diamond standard and promptly refused to mingle with such a overrated tab.
So I was back to square one, I almost went to Lidl and bought their dishwasher powder just to spite my machine but figured that I was above that instead I went to Tesco and browsed their aisles hoping and looking for a wonder cure.

Then I saw the Fairy, not only was it green and magical it was on SALE! Whoa for half price I had to have it and feeling optimistic I didn't even begrudge the 4.50 that I paid for a pack of 30.

So what was inside this wonder pod? Well first of all it was a pod not a tab, now for those of you who are dishwasher illiterate that means that instead of a hard tab made of compressed powder this was powder with a separate compartment with liquid, that dissolved when used in your dishwasher.
It is enclosed in a solvable "plastic" so there is no need to unwrap it.
It claims to be an all in one, with rinse aid action, salt action, glass protection and metal shine. Basically the miracle I was looking for.

One downside though is that because it dissolves very easily in liquid, even wet hands can cause it to get mushy, and even worse is if you put a wet hand into the pack as it will contaminate all of them, with water! Ha!

The price in Ireland is generally 8-10 euros for a pack of 30 but they are almost always on sale or offer so I generally get a promotional pack for a cheaper price. They also come in packs of 15 and larger packs with additional pods are available as well.

So I brought these home and that evening it was the moment of truth, I have a timer on the dishwasher and it goes on after 12 at night as the electricity is cheaper then. So I loaded her up and gingerly put in a Fairy pod hoping they would have something in common and that my dishwasher would finally loosen up and give me a break.
Well the next morning I opened the door to the most beautiful sight I had seen in a long time....Clean dishes, yes that's right no taking everything out and washing them by hand, this was simply magical.
I am one happy camper and my dishwasher has been spared the chopper, all thanks to this little pod!

Summary: A happy ending!

Great review - I'll try these next as I've been experimenting on different makes - but so far my experiments haven't worked out as well as I'd hoped and sometimes I've also had to end up washing things by hand LOL! :-)
