Advantages: It's kind to hands and bubbles up really well

Disadvantages: The price

I'm sure everyone at some time in their lives has done the washing up, some more than others. I myself wash up three times a day minimum following a breakdown of my dishwasher. However, what I found suprising though was the amount of choice that is now available and what I found looked really good was the new Fairy clean and care range. There are three new varities on the market although at this stage I have only tried out two. The one which I currently have is the silk and orchid variety. The other two varities include; Aloe Vera and Cucumber and Almond.

When it first arrived from Tesco's (I did an on line shop) I was pleasantly suprised at the colour, it resembles the colour of lavender and has the consistency of a shower gel. To be honest I thought after looking at it I should be washing in it myself rather than washing dishes with it. The odour itself is sublime, I can honestly say it smells wonderfully like orchids, it is really caring to the hands too. One problem I had before I had a dishwasher was that my hands would feel all dry and tight from the constant exposure to water and the chemicals in the washing up liquid so I was a little dubious as to how this would affect my hands. I have to date no problems, they feel soft and almost moisurised after you have washed up!

Now obviously I am not advicating that all women should be washing up, this works for both sexes, why shouldn't men have soft hands? But, for £1.35 (yes I know it is alot more than normal bog standard washing up liquid) it offers more than just a regular washing up liquid does this new fairy takes the bore out of the chore and I would certainly reccommend it.

Size wise the bottle is 450ml so you are not really gaining more product than any other regular washing up liquid but it is definately better than some cheaper varities I have tried where the bubbles are very minimal and it's consistency is very thin. This product works very well and produces a great amount of bubbles on just a small sqirt.

Packaging wise it comes in a clear bottle so you can always see how much product you have left and it has a flip up top. The bottle is completely recyclable but as for the list of ingredients (chemicals) they seem no different to other washing up liquids; 15-30% Anionic surfactants, 5-15% non ionic surfactants, Perfume, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hexyl Cinnamal, Methylisothiazolinone, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid. I have to be honest I'm non the wiser for reading that. There is a warning on the back as with all washing up liquids to avoid prolonged use if you have damaged or sensitive skin.

If you haven't tried the new Fairy range then I seriously recommend it, go on give it a try.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: A pampering new washing up liquid
