Advantages: Don't need much and cuts through grease the best

Disadvantages: Costs a little more than the store's own brand

When you think of washing up liquid, it is Fairy that springs to mind first and never (in my head at least) without hearing without hearing the jingle song from when I was a child which must be a testament to the power of branding.

I'm not really one for brand loyalty - driven as I am by what is on special offer at the supermarkets for the most part and dipping my toe into the water of the 'value' product on occasion. I've tried this with washing up liquid, I've found the value alternatives to be a total waste of time - you have to use half a bottle to get anything like enough cleaning power. I must admit to occasionally being seduced by an exotic new scent in a store's own brand, I always come back to good old Fairy.

It doesn't irritate my skin (although I do wear gloves if I've got lots to do) and it really does cut through grease so much better than the others. Also, you only need a couple of drops worth to get a decent foam which means that a single bottle lasts for ages - good for your pocket and good for the environment.

Summary: Worth every penny!
