Advantages: Lasts longer than cheaper liquid.
Disadvantages: None except that is costs a bit more.
Fairy Liquid is made by Proctor and Gamble and has been a household name for over 50 years. Those of us of a 'certain age' will remember the TV advert 'Now hands that do dishes can feel soft as your face with mild green fairy liquid' You can almost hear me singing it can' t you?
I often buy Fairy as I think it is good value as despite being more expensive than most washing up liquid, it is more concentrated so lasts longer and you need less of it.
The bottle I have in front of me is the special 50th anniversary bottle that is like the bottles from years ago. It is white in colour with a green squeezy cap. There is a the 50th anniversary logo on the front as well as a picture of a baby wearing a nappy. I never could work out why there isn't a picture of a fairy instead but no doubt there is a deep and meaningful reason!
Fairy liquid bottles of this shape were used on Blue Peter to make such wonderful things as pen holders and space rockets etc. The modern flatter, transparent bottles are not nearly so much fun.
The bottle is 510 ml and cost £1.00.
The washing up liquid in this bottle is the original formula and is green in colour. It has a pleasant fresh smell. You don't need much to get your dishes clean. It is difficult to say how long a bottle lasts as it depends how many squirts you use and how much washing up you do. I like to change the water several times when I wash up so I am probably a bit wasteful.
It's simple to use, you just put a couple of squirts of Fairy Liquid in a bowl and run hot water into it. Fairy makes a lot of white foamy bubbles. Glasses sparkle and it doesn't leave smears on them. I always soak saucepans and oven dishes in a solution of Fairy and hot water before washing them up and they come up well as Fairy seems to cut through the grease.
I usually forget to wear rubber gloves when washing up but Fairy Liquid does not irritate my skin. I don't have particularly sensitive skin though so if your skin is prone to irritation; it is probably a good idea to wear gloves. In any case rinse your hands thoroughly after use.
Try not to squirt Fairy Liquid in your eye. If you do somehow mange to do this, rinse your eye with plenty of clean water. As with any cleaning products keep Fairy out of reach of small children.
It's good value for moneym much better than the cheap brands.
Thanks for reading.
Summary: A trusted brand that has been around for years.
