“ Brand: Fairy / Type: Fabric Conditioner / Category: Laundry „
I always use a fabric softener in my washer, and 90% of the time this is the one I use - Fairy Naturals Almond Milk & Honey Fabric Softener. I only really deviate from using this one if they've ran out in the supermarket, or if I'm tempted by a special offer on Comfort when the Fairy fabric softener is full price.
Fairy Fabric Softener comes in two fragrances; this one - the Almond Milk & Honey fragrance, and the Original fragrance. I always buy the Almond Milk & Honey fragrance as I absolutely adore the smell.
Fairy Fabric Softener will usually be on offer in one of the major supermarkets if you shop around. It's currently on offer in Sainsbury's for £2 instead of £3.34 for a 1.4 litre bottle, so a saving of £1.34 per bottle. I stocked up with a couple of bottles last week.
Fairy Fabric Softener says that it's ''Huggably soft for sensitive skin'', it's dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic to ensure that it wraps your family's delicate skin in huggable softness, and that it has the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval. I like that it's dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic as I very often wash some of our little nephew's clothes when he stays with us the odd weekend.
The fabric softener is a milky white colour, and it does kind of make you think of the almond milk in the description. When you open the bottle to sniff it, it smells divine; really milky and creamy, yet sweet and nutty at the same time. The divine fragrance transfers to the clothes, and when I take the clothes out of the washer the fragrance seems to fill the house.
This leaves all my washing super soft and smelling absolutely gorgeous. I find that the fragrance lingers on our clothes and bedding for days, even if I pull something out of the wardrobe up to maybe a week later I can still catch the gorgeous fragrance of this fabric softener on them. I love getting into a freshly made bed when I've just washed and dried the bedding, and used this fabric softener in the wash, I could just lie awake and sniff the sheets all night, and I love how soft the bedding is against my bare skin.
I don't use this on our towels, as you're not supposed to use fabric conditioner on towels; it makes them lose their absorbency much quicker. The bottle also warns that liquid fabric softener can increase fabric flammability, and that using more than the recommended dosage can increase this effect. The bottle also advises to not use this product on children's sleepwear or garments labeled as flame resistant as it may reduce flame resistance, or on garments made with fluffier fabrics (such as fleece, velour, chenille, and terry cloth - there's my towels theory then!). I do actually use the fabric softener on everything apart from our towels.
As with all fabric softeners you shouldn't pour this directly onto fabrics. I use a full cap full per load in the washer, and if I'm hand washing then I use a half cap full per wash. I alternate my washing powders depending what's on offer when I need to buy more, however I always find that's it's the fragrance of this fabric softener that I can smell on my washing, not the washing powder.
I'd definitely recommend Fairy Naturals Almond Milk & Honey Fabric Softener, I love it.
I bought a bottle of this from Sainsbury's when they were selling the 2 different kinds of Fairy Fabric Softeners for £1 each. This can cost anything around 31.60-31.80 per bottle and I hadn't tried this one before, but I really like the other one.
Anyway for 31 it is worth a try. This comes in a 750ml bottle. It is concentrate and does approx 21 washes according to the label on the front. The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. It is a sort of rectangular shape and the plastic is clear so you can see the creamy white liquid. There is a plastic wrap around label and it just all looks sft and gentle. The colouring on here is a light peach colour.
You just measure out the dosage in the cap and there is instructions on the back as to how much dosage for whatever load of washing.
I had the image that this would be a nice soft fragrance and I was right. Scent wise i prefer the other one as that just smells like pure fresh scent, whereas with this one you get the Almond and Honey scent as well. It isn't bad but it smells a bit more sweet rather than anything else.
This gave my clothes a nice softness and a fresh scent which lingered a bit. I don't think I would buy it again, but that's just because I much prefer the other scent.
worth a try if it is on offer and you can make your own mind up.
Theres always loads of these fabric conditioners underneath the sink in my kitchen and because theres so many we tend to alternate them a LOT this is the latest one that we have started using. My mom came back from shopping a with this product a few weeks ago because basically one of the shop workers had recommended it for washing baby clothes as it isnt as harsh as some other fabric conditioners out there. But we decided to use it for all the washing and not just the baby clothes.
This product comes in a transparent 1.5 litre bottle with a peach coloured screw off cap. The directions of how to use and how much to use are all on the bottle along with ingredients and an address to write to should you have any problems with this product. When it comes to using this I tend to pour the liquid into the cap and then into the washing machine draw but I know some people pour it straight onto the clothes - I doubt it matters how you do it to be honest. The bottle states that you only need one capfull in each wash and then you will get 42 washes out of the whole bottle but I reckon half a cap is more than enough in this case - I guess it all depends on how much washing you have and what items you are washing in each load. That way the bottle will last you even longer so its pretty good value for money.
To be totally honest I dont think that this smells anything like Almond or Honey! But having said that it does smell very nice and its actually more floral than I first expected. Im not to sure whether or not everyone will like this smell but even though Im not mad on it, it does still smell gorgeous and will make your clothes smell proper fresh after washing them. The scent does last on your clothes for quite a while afterwards but not as long as other fabric conditioners Ive tried so I was a little bit let down by the scent of this overall although my mom loves the fragrance.
I just asked my mom how many stars she would give this product and she said 4 because she recommends it for washing baby and kids clothes but not adults. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I prefer a stronger scent that lasts a bit longer and with babies clothes the smell doesnt matter as much - as long as it is soft and gentle of their skin. So I reckon 4 stars overall is actually a good idea. The scent isnt for everyone but I fully recommend it for washing babies clothes - Id use it again - but only if we ran out of everything else.
My mom got this from Morrisons for £3 on special offer so keep your eyes peeled for a bargain buy here because one bottle will last you for ages. I recommend but only for baby clothes!
