Fairy Non Bio Gel
Advantages: Works well, smells great
Disadvantages: None for me
Just before Christmas I had received a set of vouchers from Tesco included in which was one for £1 off if I tried Fairy Non Bio Gel. I usually use washing liquid and have never tried any of the gel ones but I thought since the price was right I would give it a go.
Incidentally I always buy the non bio version of washing liquid and fabric softeners as hubby suffers from very sensitive skin and the ordinary ones irritate his skin.
When we next went shopping I checked out the price of Fairy Non Bio Gel and found that it was £4.52 for 667ml making it £3.52 with my voucher so in my trolley it went.
I have used Fairy products on and off for most of my adult life in one way or another so I had no doubt that it would be of good quality.
The container is bright turquoise with the Fairy logo on the front and the words 'huggably soft for sensitive skin' and the name of the product. There are also a couple of little boxes one of which tells us that this contains enough gel for 18 washes and the other tells us that this product has been dermatologically tested.
On the back there are full instructions for us together with the various warnings that this product can be an irritant and that, if you happen to get any in your eyes, you should wash them with clean water immediately. Of course this should also be kept out of the reach of children too.
The container itself is a kind of lop sided oval shape with a flat bottom so that it stands up on the shelf and a white top set at an angle almost like a jaunty cap! This white top is removable and is the measure for the gel. There is a central 'cup' inside the top which is filled with gel as a measure for one wash. The top will stand flat on your work surface so that, if you need both hands to squeeze the gel from the container, this won't be a problem.
The gel itself is thick and bright turquoise in colour and it smells gorgeous! It reminded me of spring flowers - hyacinths, jonquils, and honeysuckle - that sort of fragrance.
I put the gel into my washer dryer and set it to do its work. The load this time was towels, tea towels and underwear and I hoped that the gel would get the tea towels particularly nice and clean as they do tend to get very grubby at the moment as I keep using them to wipe out the cupboards and drawers in my new kitchen!
When the cycle had finished I removed the washing from the machine noting that it all looked and smelled clean and fresh so I was impressed with Fairy Non Bio Gel then!
I took the washing upstairs to hang it on the airer to air before I put it away. The airer stands in front of the radiator in our spare bedroom and when the heating came on later that day the whole of the upstairs was filled with that lovely flowery fragrance which had remained on the washing.
So, in conclusion, I am very impressed with this product. It cleans well, it is easy to store and to use, it smells divine, you don't need to use much in each wash and it doesn't irritate hubby's skin.
Oh and the container is plastic so it is recycleable too!
Summary: I am impressed by Fairy Non Bio Gel!
