I first tried Fairy Non-Bio when preparing the layette for our soon to be born daughter. Because it had been recommended as a very gentle washing powder, I thought it would be ideal for washing baby clothes.

So far I have not been disappointed. A very few times i have had to pretreat stains, but Fairy makes a product for that as well, so I don't worry about flaring up my baby's sensitive skin. It leaves my baby's was very soft and I have not had to use any fabric softener, which is good, as fabric conditioners can damage the flame retardancy on clothing. As a great deal of baby clothes are white or pastels, i was also extremely pleased to see that it kept her whites bright and her pastels true.

I once ran out of Fairy, and our village shop only had Persil. It was not non-bio, but I thought doing an extra rinse would be okay. My poor daughter broke out in such a rash that only subsided completely after managing to rewash all her clothes in the Fairy. My skin is sometimes oversensitive,so upon seeing this, I decided to wash my clothes in Fairy as well. I now use it for over 99% of my laundry. I have even used it on work clothes with extremely grimy collars and have had them come very clean, even without pretreatment and in a 40 degree wash. That is very impressive considering just how grimy a lorry driver can get his clothes.

It leaves the clothes smelling very clean but not perfumy. Towels are soft and fluffy even when dried on the radiator. It does not fade colours, which is great as I wear a lot of dark colours and fading can be a major problem, especially with natural fibres. All the way around, a great product. Look for the large boxes for the best value.
