Advantages: removes greese

Disadvantages: not wrapped and can stick together

I am not brand loyal and tend to buy whichever product is on offer. A few months ago it was Fairy dishwasher platinum tablets that were on offer in Tesco and so was the one I bought. Unlike their rival Finish,Fairy dishwasher tablets are packaged in a strong plastic pouch as opposed to a cardboard box. They are easy to spot on the shelf with with the large Fairy name in red.

The tablets are not wrapped individually, but loose in the pouch. I would prefer them to be wrapped as it protects by hands from having to touch chemicals. The tablets feel quite soft to the touch and should be placed in the dishwasher dispenser. I find that these tablets are quite large and I have to struggle to get the dispenser flat closed. Fairy is made by the giant Proctor and Gamble who claim that these tablets will not only clean your dishes, but will also clean the dishwasher, drainage system, filters and spray arm, freeing them all from grease. So ,how do they perform?

I usually run my dishwasher when it is full and use the Normal wash cycle. I do rinse my plates and pans first to get rid of any food scraps. I am really impressed with these tablets and find they do a really good job of getting everything clean without leaving any residue. Unlike Finish, I have not had a problem with the tablets failing to dissolve fully! They also leave the dishwasher looking and smelling clean. I like to put half a lemon into the cutlery basket once a week and this also helps to keep my dishwasher looking and smelling clean and shiny!

There are a few negatives ;the tablets are not wrapped and as I have already said, this means you have to touch them. It also means they will stick together if they get damp. In steamy kitchen this can easily happen!

I tend to stock up on these dishwasher tablets when they are on offer as they often are! At the moment you can buy 3 packs for £10 in Tesco. Each pack containing 20 tablets is £5 from both Tesco and Waitrose. Asda are selling a pack of 20 for £4.

Overall I can highly recommend Fairy platinum!
