Advantages: Cleans to a gleaming finish with very little efftort.

Disadvantages: Can be expensive compared to some other alternatives

We recently decided to get the barbeque out again as we had finally stumbled upon a patch of good weather.

When we got it out the garage we realised that it had been left out in the garden for a while last year and wasnt in the greatest of conditions so in the current financial climate I decided that I would try to buy something to clean it rather thatn just give up and buy a new one.

So when went to Morrisons they had Fairy Power Spray on offer, with 1/3 off, as I use Fairy for my dishes and my washing I thought I would go with this trusted brand.

When I got home I started what I thought would be a long drawn out process of trying to eradicate the rust.

I turned the nozzle from OFF to ON and pulled the trigger and nothing happened. I tried again, this time I thought something was trying to happen so tried again and out squirted this white foaming liquid. The smell was quite pleasent, similar to other Fairy products which are normally quite gentle so I dont not hold out much hope.

The bottle said leave for 20 minutes and rinse so I thought this is really baked on so I will do that and then do another coat. The bottle warns this maybe necessary.

I made a cup of tea and sat wondering if it would work. 20 minutes later I wiped of this brown yuck that had formed and to my amazement I could see the shiny metal underneath in parts. I quickly cleaned it all off (within a matter of minutes) and reapplied.

I have to say I was not optimistic and thought that it would take a lot of elbow grease to get it shining again but Fairy Power Spray has worked wonder.

I am wary who I tell about this product though as my husband thinks I spent hours slaving to get it gleaming and rewarded me with a visit to the beauticians for a manicure after all my hard work and for saving all the money we would have spend on a new barbeque so kept it quiet.....thanks
