Advantages: easy to use, does the job, smells lovely
Disadvantages: none for me
Although we have a dishwasher it's fairly old now & I've found sometimes that it 'misses' some grease or 'bits' on the baking trays, crockery, cutlery etc which means I need to reach for my washing-up liquid & tackle by hand.
I've used all sorts of liquids over the years ranging from the very cheap to the expensive & found varying results. Some of the cheaper brands have been watery & smelt nasty whilst others have either produced not enough/too many bubbles & left a residue behind despite thorough rinsing.
I have to say that I've finally learned that it's no use skimping on washing-up liquid so I always buy Fairy now when I see it on offer. I stocked up before Christmas when Tesco had a promotion & 2 x 450ml bottles were on sale for £2. I chose the Original ones & thought I'd give the Lime & Lemongrass one a try as well.
The plastic bottle is a good size & is easy to grip with wet/soapy hands because of its design which is moulded. It has a flip-top lid which is easy to open & close so you don't find excess dripping down the sides.
The label on the front proudly shows our Fairy friend & is clearly marked 'antibacterial action', 'by appointment to HM...etc', & a circle depicting 'the royal institute of public health' certificate. On the reverse of the bottle the label tells me it's '100% recyclable where systems exist' & it gives full directions for use along with ingredients & the usual cautions about eyes etc.
I was a bit concerned about how this would smell (having bought it online) & not being too keen on lemony smells on dishes etc but I found this really nice. Although you can smell the lime & lemongrass it doesn't seem as strong as the lemon ones & I found it didn't linger on plates, cutlery, glasses etc.
I only needed to use 1 squirt of liquid in a medium-sized washing-up bowl to obtain a good bubbly mix & it made a good job of removing stubborn bits & grease requiring very little effort from me. It also rinses off very easily & I must say that I'm very pleased with the results I've had.
summary
~
- easy to use.
- seems comparatively expensive but you only need a little per bowl.
- lovely smell which isn't too strong.
- rinses off easily.
- does a good job removing grease & 'bits'
- recommended especially if you see it on offer.
Summary: well worth a try if you're fed up of poor liquids

- 13/06/09 Well reviewed, it looks so posh with the ingredients doesn't it, you almost want to rub it all over your skin?! :o) x |

- 13/06/09 I wouldn't normally buy Fairy due to the price but there was an offer at Sainsburys recently so I got to try this and I love the fragrance. |
