My partner arranged for a visit by Home Counties Cladding to come round in the evening after one of their representives cold called during the day. He came round, looked at what i wanted done (New front Guttering, new front down-pipe, Barge boards, rear guttering etc..,) priced it up and came to a figure of £1520.00. I agreed and had 14 days to change my mind once i had given a deposit of £340.00 which he took by cheque on the day. I changed my mind and reduced the order to just the front with new down-pipe and the barge boards, this came in at £870.00. Took about two months to actually come round and do the work (which was done while we were at work...this was pre-arranged, but we also had to supply the electricity for their tools). Got home that evening to find that 1) they had put the wrong colour guttering up 2) the new down-pipe was placed directly over my house number 3) all they had done was swapped over the old with the new but no soffits etc.., was added. I phoned to complain and was told it had to be in writing which i did and stated i would with-hold payment due till fixed. They came back, changed the colour of the guttering and moved the down-pipe across but no soffits etc.., phoned again, this time with them stating that in the contract i signed the soffits etc.., wasn't included even though when i ordered the work with their representive i was given the impression that i was having all this work done and this was the first time i had ever had this sort of work done. Because i had signed a contract there wasn't anything i could do, but they had to come back again as they had not filled in the drill holes from moving the down-pipe. I found them to be extremely expensive for the work they done (this includes having to supply them with electricity......no cordless tool)
