Advantages: Quick easy to use
Disadvantages: none
Febreze is a product I have been using for several years and has now become a staple in my cleaning cupboard. It comes in several fragrances now, but the classic fragrance is still the one I prefer.
~About Febreze~
Febreze is a product which eliminates odours from fabrics. It can be used in several different ways around the home, such as on beds, sofas, curtains, clothes, pet beds and car upholstery. It cannot be used on leather, suede or silk. If you are using this on delicate fabrics they suggest you test it on an inconspicuous area first.
~Packaging~
The product comes in a pale blue bottle with a trigger spray. The bottle is a nice shape and fits easily into your hand, but the actual design isn't really anything special.
~Using it~
To use Febreze you simply spray over fabrics until damp and it will remove odours as it dries. As you spray the liquid you can smell the sweet, fresh fragrance of the liquid.
One of the best things about Febreze is that it has such a huge amount of uses. Every few weeks I spray my curtains with it, and have even sprayed it over carpets and rugs although it doesn't really specify if you should do this or not on the bottle.
Before I got my lovely new sofa, I used to have a grotty old second hand one, which I used to cover with big throws as it wasn't exactly the prettiest thing to look at! The problem with this was that they were being used frequently, so would need washed fairly often to keep them clean and smelling fresh. Due to the size of these throws and the fact they were made of a very heavy material, whenever they had been washed, they were a total nightmare to dry - especially if it was raining and I couldn't hang them on the washing line. Although it's not actually a cleaning agent, it freshens the fabric, keeping it smelling fresh, so I could wait longer between washes.
~Results~
I remember years ago when I first saw this advertised I was a bit sceptical about it, not believing that it would really work. I'm glad I gave it a go though, because now I wouldn't use anything else! It really does get rid of odours in fabric, and leaves fabrics and upholstery with a gentle, delicate smell. When I had dogs, it was especially helpful of getting rid of the doggy smells from around the house.
I also find this very convenient. Heavy fabrics like curtains and throws can be a pain to wash, so having a product like Febreze handy makes is a godsend as it means you can go longer between washes.
~Price~
This costs £2.24 for a 500ml bottle from Wilkinsons.
