Advantages: Removes smells, not too expensive, lasts a long time.

Disadvantages: Only one 'smell' available

As a student, Febreze is a must-have accessory. It can be used on all surfaces, including curtains, sofa coverings, bedding, clothes, and in fact anything that's covered in fabric. I once had a smoker visit my room; I went to buy some Febreze the next day, not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised when, within 10 minutes, it had removed all traces of the smell. Don't be put off if it doesn't work instantly; Febreze works as it dries so takes a few minutes to kick in.

Don't be tempted to use it on leather, suede, or silk though, as it could damage these products. As always, you should test it on a small and inconspicuous area first to make sure there's no permanent colour change to the fabric; I've personally never had any problems with this.

Febreze is an excellent product that freshens and removes odour from difficult to clean fabrics such as curtains; it's particularly useful if you're a student and your parents are due to visit and you've left the cleaning till the last minute! Additionally, it isn't particularly expensive (£2.99 for 500ml), and it should last you for many months of occasional usage.
