Advantages: masks bad smells

Disadvantages: more scents could be created

This has just reminded me that I urgently need to go out and buy a new bottle as mine is coming to an end. I don't know how people survived without Febreze before it was invented. Did people just around stinking? I guess they did.

If you're not familiar with this, it is a genius product, a spray which destroys odours and leaves behind a clean and refreshing scent. I think you can get a couple of scents now, I prefer the blue bottled one myself. The scent is best described as flowery, fresh and sanitary. You wouldn't want it overly scented otherwise it would seep into all your clothes and leave you overly pungent.

Febreze is particularly useful for people with pets. If you have bad smelling cats or dogs, just give their baskets a spray with this and it will leave it smelling delicious. The spray is a godsend for smokers. If you smoke (I do not) it will get rid of that stale smell on fabrics in an instant. I used to give my clothes a quick dash of Febreze when I came back from clubbing, though the indoor smoking ban has helped alleviate that problem now.

It is also handy for spraying the inside of shoes to give them a quick freshness boost and can also be used as an air spray. I sometimes squirt it into cupboards and dark corners, just to eliminate any potential nasties which might be lurking in there.

If you have a wife who is prone to breaking wind, then this spray will also provide instant relief as you can target key areas with the nozzle and pump action spray. It will mask odours within seconds and you will soon forget the smell it has just hidden.

Febreze is a perfect household product that can also be used to freshen up car mats, upholstery, clothes, bed linen and teatowels. If you're out of polish, it also makes a neat little alternative! I recommend it and for two quid a bottle it should last you ages.

Summary: mmmmm fresh
