Everyone hates washing up, which is why we bought ourselves a dishwasher. We tend to buy Finish powerball classic dishwasher tablets, they cost around £3.30 in most supermarkets for 15 tablets.

They come in a blue cardboard box, the background colour is mainily blue and it has a picture of a sparkling wine glass on the front. The box is fairly easy to open which is always handy!

Each tablet is individually wrapped in a foil wrapper which means they can easily be stored under the sink without getting damp. When you open up the package you are hit by a very strong fresh smell, at first I thought the smell would somehow rub onto the dishes, but it doesn't at all, and after you use them it leaves the dishwasher smelling nice and fresh. Each tablet is split into three sections, there is a white base, a blue stripe and a red ball stuck in the centre, I guess this is the power ball.

To use these all you do is put them in the small draw on the inside of the door of the washer, We always do an intensive wash with ours, which is about 70degrees and washes for around two hours. Our dishwasher does have shorter cycles but we always find putting it onto intensive gives the best results.

Whilst in the cycle, the red ball is supposed to be released first to soak on to the plates etc... then the white layer does all the work giving them a good clean. Finally, the blue layer gives everything a good shine.
We always rinse stuff before we put it into the dishwasher, but we have used it without rinsing and the finish tablets still leave everything very clean and smelling fresh. We put all sorts in the dishwasher, pots, pans, plates etc... Everything always comes out spotless.

The price tag does seem a bit expensive for these tablets, but when you look at the time saved standing at a sink washing up; it is well worth having a dishwasher and buying these tablets.

As well as pots and pans, we also put our scrubbing brush and scourers into the dishwasher too, they come out like new!
