Advantages: Cleans well. Streak free. No chemical smell.

Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive.

I have used other dishwashing tablets over the years....not only trying to find the best product, but also the cheapest product that will provide me with the quality I demand. And I do continually come back to Finish Powerball - because, in my experience, it stands head and shoulders above the other dishwashing products on the market. Cost wise its not too bad either. Usually I pick up a box of 15 powerballs from Boots for £3.99 - which equates to 27 pence per dishwashing cycle. I probably could get them for a lot cheaper if I bought them in bulk, but I simply never seem to be organised enough for this!

The Finish Powerball comes individually wrapped which means that the Powerball remains fresh and dry. The Powercall is white and blue and then has a pinkish (power) ball on the top centre.

Using it is easy. I simply pop the little Powerball tablet inside the powder compartment of my dishwasher - and then set my dishwasher appropriately. The tablet does fit inside the compartment easily - both in terms of width and height.

The results are good. China, plastic and cutlery comes out clean, even those items which were more encaked with food. As long as I scrape off the tougher residues from baking trays etc. these also come out clean and sparkling - although occasionally I need to finish these off by hand (although that's rare). I have never found any greasy residues on any items once the cycle is finished. In addition to this, everything smells fresh and it doesn't have that chemical dishwasher smell that some dishwashing products can leave.

The manufacturers explain why using Finish Powerball is recommended.

***THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THAT THE PINK POWERBALL BREAKS DOWN THE TOUGHEST AND MOST STUBBORN RESIDUE***
I concur to an extent....although sometimes baking trays need some extra manual help!

***THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THAT THERE IS AN INGREDIENT THAT ENSURES THAT ITEMS ARE STREAK FREE AND GLASS UNDAMAGED***
I concur. Even glasses come out sparkly clean and streak free. None of my glassware seems to have been unduly affected by being put in the dishwasher with this product.

***THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THAT LIMESCALE DEPOSITS ARE MINIMALISED***
I can't really comment on this - except to say that I haven't had a problem with limescale deposits...but then I haven't with other dishwashing products either.

Overall, I would recommend this product for anyone who uses a dishwasher. There are cheaper products out there on the market, but in my experience, purchasing them is a false economy.

Summary: Recommended.
