==Finish Classic Powerball==
Many of us are fortunate enough to have a dishwasher, which means there is no need to wash up hardly anything by hand (unless it's absolutely greasy of course!). But there a some people who are not so lucky, now, let's take a couple of minutes of silence for them...2 minutes later...anyway, now with the review! Our dishwasher at home is a 7 year old Hotpoint Aquarius (in graphite) & mostly the programme we use is the quick wash at 40c. I have persuaded my dad to regularly use a dishwasher cleaner every month because ours has a half load function which enables us to do so & whenever we use the dishasher cleaner we use the intensive 65c cycle which gives good results in the dishwasher.
One brand we use all the time is Finish. The Finish Classic Powerball (Mainly Original, sometimes Citrus) in a box of 90 which my dad gets from his workplace to be precise. They cost him £6 that's all! A box of 90 lasts us a good couple of months but whilst in Poundland last week I spotted a box of 15 Finish Classic Powerball Original for guess what? Only £1! I immediately picked up a box & plonked them in my basket along with other several bits & bobs I picked up. I had seen in Morrisons that a box of 15 were £3! This meant you could have 45 tablets for the price of 15!
These Finish Dishwasher tablets come in a square box similar to that of a little 5 wash box of Surf. The box is dark blue with light blue on the top of the box all the way around. The Finish logo in in front of a Sparkling glass which shows they are dishwasher tablets. The variety which in this case, is 'Classic' is in the top left hand corner. Under the Finish logo is the '#1 recommended' sign. The number 15 is displayed in the bottom right hand corner.
The sides have directions for use, cautions & the dishwasher cleaners available. Also Finish are the No.1 recommended brand of dishwasher detergent.
They are recommended by:
As you can see that is a LOT of brands. The back of the box displays a lot of information. The Classic variations have a soaking action with x2 power actions: a Powerful Clean & Tea Stain Removal. Apparently the powerball soaks away food stains & lift off traces of food during the wash. Apparently for the best results use with Finish Rinse-Aid & Special Salt. On the back too their is a list of all the varieties & what jobs they do. They compare the powerful clean, tea stain removal, salt, rinse-aid & anti-limescale functions along with cutting grease, wrapper free & amazing shine.
Quantum: Do all of the above which is good as they're wrapper free
All in 1: Do all except wrapper free & amazing shine.
Classic: Do only 2 of the jobs & don't do salt, rinse-aid & anti-limescale functions along with cutting grease, wrapper free & amazing shine. That is quite dissapointing but they still do a good job without rinse aid but rinse aid does help.
==My Experiences with Finish Classic==
Last night it was my duty to load the dishwasher & instead of the usual dishwasher tablets I tried one of these without asking! I unwrapped the tablets & all they are is a white layer on the bottom with a blue layer at the top, with a red, plastic looking ball sitting on top. I unwrapped one of these, put them in the dispenser, & decided not to use rinse-aid for the first time. I then switched the program to Quick Wash, 40c & pressed start. As the machine purred into life, I looked closer at the box & read all the machine they are recommended by. I did see that Hotpoint was on the list too.
When the machine had finished I took out the plates & began to put them back onto the plate rack to see they were clean, but not just clean, SQUEAKY CLEAN! I was instantly impressed by the fact I did'nt either add rinse aid to the cycle! I looked a the glasses & cutlery to see they had no smear marks or no streaks, spots or stains either! I was really impressed by the cleaning power by these, especially since they only had 2 cleaning actions!
For £1 for 15 these are an EXCELLENT buy! They are also good for when you go on holiday if you know a dishwasher will be there! No need for Rinse Aids or even special salt unless you live in a hard water area. I will be stocking up on these! That's all for now, I'm off to watch My Parents Are Aliens!
Thanks for Reading! :)
