am always looking for a bargain so when I was given a voucher for £2 of the latest Finish dishwasher tablets I was keen to give them a go. You may have seen the advert for these tablets, the one where you are told they are the diamond standard and see sparkling clean glasses lifted from a spotless dishwasher! Finish have named this new kid on the block, max in 1,suggesting these are the best! So what did I think?
Before I give you my opinion let me tell you a bit about the product. Unlike many other dishwasher tablets,Max in 1 are wrapped in a biodegradable film designed to dissolve in the dishwasher. The plus side of this is that you don't have to touch the tablet and risk getting any nasty chemicals on your hands. Neither do you have to unwrap any awkward little plastic bags as with other Finish tablets.
The information on the box again promises brilliant results, to quote Finish-"lock in the power to deliver sparkling cleaning wash after wash". Finish Max in 1 are available in either original or lemon fresh fragrance. I opted for the fresh lemon. The box I bought contained 28 tablets and cost around £5,but as I had a £2 voucher I paid just £3. So was it money well spent?
I have always used Finish dishwasher tablets and have been happy with the results, if not the price! I really expected these to deliver! The first time I used a tablet I was pleased not to have to do any unwrapping. The tablet is the same size as most dishwasher tablets and fitted into the dispensing compartment of my dishwasher. A quick sniff was enough to confirm that the lemon scent was detectable.
On opening my dishwasher I was very disappointed to see that although the dispenser door had opened as usual the tablet complete with the water soluble film was still in place in a now sticky mess! The dishes had been washed with mainly hot water and most still had food particles left on them. Not to be defeated, after all this tablet does have" the diamond standard" I tried again. The same problem! In fact I have never managed to use these tablets in the way they are intended and have resulted to throwing a tablet into the main body of the dishwasher. This works, but not well! I still have to wash any really dirty dishes my hand.
The only positive of these tablets is that they do get glasses clean and sparkling, but then so can I washing by hand! Overall these tablets were a huge disappointment and waste of money! If you really want to try them for yourself they are available in most supermarkets and cost £5 in Asda at present for a box of 28 tablets.
Your dishes will sparkle!
