Advantages: Cleans most surfaces
Disadvantages: Can irritate sensitive hands
I am becoming a bit fanatic about cleaning, what with having no central heating, and plenty of coal dust around, and find myself perusing the cleaning product shelves at the supermarket.
So, my new “best favourite” is this super duper nifty little cleaner which I have now decided is the new “must have”.
THE PACKAGING
This comes in a see through 1litre plastic bottle with a screw top lid and a nifty little carry handle. It tells me on the front that it is indeed Flash All Purpose and there is a picture of some fir cones hanging from a tree and beneath this, a picture of a very very shiny floor. I took this to mean that the fir cones will make my floor all shiny…ho ho… off to the forest go I!!
THE PRODUCT
This is a green liquid and I LOVE the smell! It really is all pine foresty fresh smelling- not a bit of ammonia which usually infiltrates cleaning products and which I can’t stand. So, plus points all the way so far.
WHAT IT PROMISES
This is an all purpose cleaner with natural extracts, for painted and varnished hard washable surfaces. The text on the bottle doesn’t go into details in tiny text but rather (and preferably) has a series of pictures showing where you can use this, namely: kitchens (look at the oven!),bathrooms, pet baskets, bins, pet bowls, patios and patio sets. All the pictures have little stars on them, suggesting not just clean but shiny clean.
WHAT DO I DO?
This again is shown in a series of pictures…I could be unable to read and STILL use Flash, which in my opinion is a really good idea.
All you have to do is dilute 2 capfuls (60ml) of Flash with 5l of water, of use it neat on a cloth and rinse after use.
This seems just too simple, but I always have plenty to clean, so away I go.
DOES IT WORK
I have given this a go on virtually everything that stays still.
Firstly, ceramic tiles… there was definitely lots of dirt in the mop bucket so it must be working, and there it was, the fresh smell. However, a word of warning…my floor was not as gleaming as the floor on the bottle. I think that’s called marketing.
Next the bathroom, on which I usually use spray cleaners, and again, it does get it all nice and clean.
The same can be said of the kitchen and laminate flooring.
The real plus side in my opinion, is the smell; am I getting hooked on cleaning products? Me thinks so…time to get out more.
The downside, if you’re anything like me, is that it does dry your hands a bit, but I suppose the simple solution to this is to wear rubber gloves; this I will try.
All in all, though, it does get things clean, and it really is all purpose, and since there are other Flash smells (I did notice a lemon one), I think I will try them all.
