How would the world be without Flash wipes? Well let's see a dirtier place that's what!
************************************************* *******************
What Is Flash All Purpose?
Flash All Purpose, or Flash Wipes as I call them, are designed to make your home cleaner. They can be used on any hard surface in your home (You should test each surface with small area first just in case).
The flash wipes are shaped much like a duster or paper towel accept they are made of thin cotton like material. Each of these wipes has a smell of lemon, a good smell of lemon I should say, and can be split into two small halfs if you don't need a large wipe. In total you get 30 large wipes or 60 small wipes per pack of Flash All Purpose Wipes.
Please note this product doesn't claim to kill germs.

How do I Open The Packet & Remove A Wipe?
Using a Flash Wipe is very easy. You need to start by opening the yellow plastic packet. You can do this by pulling the front of the packet off. Start by holding the red arrow tag and pull towards the Flash logo, upwards. Once you've pulled the top of the packet open you will be able to see the Flash Wipes.
The next stage is to gently grip a single wipe by the opening in the middle of the wipes. Don't grab or pull the wipes out in a heavy way or all at once as you'll find it hard to get them back in. Once you have a single wipe between your thumb and index finger gently pull it out of the packet.
************************************************* *******************
Do I Need A Large Of Small Wipe?
Now that you have your Flash Wipe you need to decide if you want to use the whole wipe (Large Wipe) or just half of it (Small Wipe). If you doing a large area, e.g. kitchen work tops, you will need the whole wipe. If you’re cleaning a small object, e.g. a computer screen, you need only a small wipe only.
To create a small wipe simply hold the wipe so the longest side is facing upwards, so the wipe should be landscape, and place your fingers on each corner. Now move your fingers inwards until they are about an inch away from the visible line in the middle of the wipe. Now move your hands apart and pull the wipe downwards to split the towel in half! You now have two small wipes instead of a large wipe!
************************************************* *******************
What Can & Can't I Clean With The Wipe?
You can clean pretty much everything in your house and outside it too! Remember that the towel is wet but not dripping. Still stay well clear of things like the vents on Television’s, computer monitors, microwave and other electrical equipment.
The packet recommends that you use Flash All Purpose Wipes for: Computer desks, computer monitors, keyboards, fridges, phones, kitchen surfaces and wooden areas.
Remember to use the wipes on a small area of all surfaces to make sure it doesn't damage them. Also remember that these wipes smell of lemon and might upset someone’s nose. The smell stays around for at least two to three hours.

What Have I Used Flash All Purpose Wipes For?
I spend most of my time in my bedroom, living room and kitchen. I find its best to use a spray bottle and a cloth to maintain the kitchen surfaces so I use the Flash Wipes in my bedroom. Please note once again that this product doesn't claim to kill germs, e.g. a bit like polish.
In my bedroom I have a number of surfaces that love to get dusty. These include my desk, laptop, television, DVD player, shelves, bedside table, my fan blades, top of the wardrobe, windows and window ledge, top of photo frames, top of DVD's, end and headboard on bed, CD rack, sound system and my blinds. Oh I forgot the door handle :)
The main area that always gets dirty of dusty is the desk. I have a glass desk and find you can always see the marks and bits of dusk after cleaning. I've tried using a duster and polish in the past but it just doesn't work. So to clean my desk I use a large Flash wipe, sometimes two, to clean the whole desk. Something your find is that the wipes make the dust go into little wet balls. These balls are hard to get off the suface. So I find using one large wipe to wipe the desk down and then another to collect any dust balls or dirt still on the desk.
The next surface is my laptop. The keys, mouse pad, buttons and the screen always get dirty from touching it all day, dust and eating and then using the keys. I find just brushing them over very gently with a small wipe works a treat! Remember to turn your laptops and computers off before cleaning! If the laptop or computer has holes or vents be extra careful around these areas.
I hate cleaning my shelves, which have my DVD's on. It doesn't matter if I clean the shelves every day they still manage to get a ton of dust on and so do the DVD'S. I have four large selves and about 200 hundred DVD's. I use around two to three large Flash All Purpose Wipes for this job. I find that a lot of the wet dust balls I said about early gather on these wooden shelves. I find wiping all the shelves with a single wipe and then following up with another one or two clean wipes helps leave the shelves spotless.
Anyone who has a ceiling fan will know the blades get dust on them. I use a single large Flash Wipe and wrap it around the blade. I then grip the wipe and pull it towards me, off of the blade, to make sure the dust is removed from the edges and the top and bottom is also cleaned.
Other items such as CD's, DVD's, Video's, remote controls and phones can be cleaned with Flash wipes. Use a small Flash Wipe for these products. Remember you get a nice smell of lemon which lasts for a few hours. However, using the Flash wipes on a TV remote and then sitting down, watching TV and eating food is a bad idea. You will find you need to keep washing your hands. So use the Flash Wipe and then wait a few hours or dry the remote with a towel or other kitchen wipe, which isn't wet or smelling.
Flash wipes are also good for cleaning the top of computer cases and the top of photo frames. Just slide a large wipe across the top of a computer case and a small wipe around the top of edge of a photo frame. Best to use a single finger wrapped inside the wipe so not to mark the wall with the wipes wetness.
************************************************* *******************
Do I Need To Wear Gloves?
Some people might want to get their pink or yellow washing up gloves out to clean with. This is ok and protects you against the Flash Wipe chemicals. I however find it easier and more accurate to use my bare hands. If, however, you find you get an itch or a rash stop using the Flash All Purpose Wipes, clean your hands with hot water and use gloves to protect your skin.
************************************************* *******************
How Much Do They Cost?
If your lucky you will find them on special offer for 99p otherwise it can be anything from 99p to £3 depending on where you shop. Wilkinson’s seems to be the best shop to purchase this product in. You should be able to find them in the cleaning sections of most supermarkets and other stores. Each wipe costs around 5p, 2.5p if you use a small one.
************************************************* *******************
Anything Else?
Yes! Flash Wipes make cleaning so much more easier and fun to. What might take ten minutes with a duster takes less then thirty seconds with a Flash Wipe.
You will find you use a lot of Flash wipes. Try to use the smaller wipes whenever possible or use another cheaper method when you can.
If you don't use the Flash Wipes in around ten minutes or so they will dry out and become useless. You can add a little water but then you’re just really using a wet cloth.
Each wipe costs around 5p. Cut the cost to 2.5p by splitting the wipes in half.
************************************************* *******************
Final Thoughts
Flash Wipes are handy to have around the house. I always use a Flash Wipe instead of dusters. Try not to use them as much on kitchen surfaces as this costs a lot. Your better using a kitchen cleaning in a bottle and a clean dish cloth for your kitchen.
The smell of the Flash Wipes is lovely and the cost isn't too bad but it could be better. Maybe 99p per packet would be good.
Don't be fooled by the packet. There are only 30 normal size wipes. You need to split the normal (Large) sized wipes in half to get two smaller wipes.

- 01/10/06 Nice review - never realised there would be so much to say about these wipes. Good idea giving us examples of what you clean and how many wipes it takes.
Just to let you know if you read around others reviews more then you are more likely to increase your own reads and you seem to be a good writer so it would be beneficial to get yourself known more. x
