Advantages: Work well, antibacterial
Disadvantages: None
I've never been a fan of cleaning so anything I can buy to make it as quick and painless as possible is worth a try in my mind. It was on this principle that I bought these cleaning wipes from Flash. I like to quickly wipe over the surfaces in my kitchen and bathroom every time I use them so that there's never the need for a big spring clean.
These wipes come in packs of 60 and can be found in most supermarkets for about £1.40, but there seems to be regular buy one get one free offers on them so it's always a good idea to wait for one to come around and pick some up then.
They come in a green plastic pack with a pull back tab that reveals the hole where the wipes come out. The pack is resealable so the wipes stay fresh and moist, and unlike a lot of wipe packs it reseals properly even when there's only a few wipes left in the pack.
The wipes are really easy to use, you just wipe over any hard washable surfaces with them and that's it, there's no need to rinse or wipe the surface dry after use. You actually get 30 large wipes which are perforated down the middle to make the 60 wipes stated on the pack. The large wipes are about 6 ½ by 10inches, making each wipe when separated about 6 ½ by 5inches. They do seem quite small, but it's surprising how far they go.
The wipes are antibacterial and according to the pack they kill 99.99% of bacteria. The scent is similar to most antibacterial cleaners, rather than being scented in a particular way. They have a kind of criss-cross pattern on them indented to give them a slightly rough texture, which helps them to pick things up more easily than if they were smooth.
They're quite damp and don't dry out very quickly so there's no rush to use them as soon as you get them out of the pack. They do a really good job of cleaning all my hard surfaces, the only times they're not particularly good is if there's something that been left and dried on, otherwise all that's needed is a quick wipe over and it's done, no scrubbing involved. They leave the surfaces sparkling clean and smelling fresh, and they dry off very quickly, usually within a few seconds.
They don't tear or come apart when you're using them even if you get them wet, they're very strong. A single wipe will go a long way, I usually find one wipe is enough to do all the surfaces in my kitchen, and I usually use 2 for my bathroom, so a pack will last quite a long time.
You should always make sure you wash your hands after using these, as with any cleaning products, but I must admit I sometimes don't bother and I've never found them to irritate my skin at all.
Summary: Antibacterial wipes for all your hard surfaces
