Candles are made of thick candle wax which is permanently set in round votive holders. After use, the candle can be cleaned out by applying hot water to swirl around the bottom of the glass which usually allows the left over wax and wick to lift. A wash in a dishwasher however lifts the metal wick off found on later sleeved jars where Glade has glued the wick to the bottom of the glass jar. Don’t try a blunt implement like I tried and managed to crack the glass doing it!

Glade® by SC Johnson have been producing candles for a number of years now, realising that not all home owners want a dry air freshener, spray or plug in. However whilst SC Johnson would love to believe that they hold a single market with scented candles designed to freshen the air in homes, other companies from America have taken the UK by storm offering excellent long lasting scents, good quality fragrances which are long lasting and for some companies such as Yankee Candle, have a fantastic range supported by good quality ceramic, glass, metal and porcelain holders. ** This is a long review ** However finding a Yankee Candle (or “Colonial” for that matter) ...
