Advantages: Smells lovely, Burns a while, Frequently on offer, Nice jar.

Disadvantages: Scent not exactly as described.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I realised that my Yankee candle was running low. I like to burn candles, particularly in the colder months as it gives a nice cosy feeling to a room, as well as filling it with fragrance. I did not want to spend much on a candle, and as Glade had a few on offer I decided to opt for their 'honey and chocolate' scented one.

I purchased this from Asda whereby it was on offer for only £2.00. I think the candle retails at around the £3.00 mark but is almost always on offer. I was happy to pay £2.00 and it seemed like a good price for a good quality brand. I had previously used Glade candles so was more than happy to pick up another one. You can find their candles in most good supermarkets if you are interested in picking one up.

The candle itself comes in a lovely glass jar which I think adds a nice touch. It saves you have to use your own candle holders, and I think it looks pretty. The jar is of an average size, and is gold, white and yellow in colour making it perfect over the festive season. The design has star shapes spread over it, and I think it is really lovely. I would personally recommend clearing out the candle after use and reusing the jar with tea lights in it.

The candle is supposed to burn for up to 30 hours, which I think is very reasonable for a £2.00 candle. I have now just used up this, and I would say that I got a good 30 hours use out of it, so I am able to confirm this. When I smelt this candle in store, it seemed quite sweet and not something I would normally opt for. However, I was not into the other scents on offer, so I just bought this on a bit of a whim. Although honey and chocolate is not a scent I would go for, I thought it was perfect for the winter months.

The wick is of a good length, and lights easily. I personally trim the wick down as the candle gets smaller, as I feel it helps it burn better and makes less mess. I would recommend trimming the wick of this candle. The candle itself is cream in colour, and fills up the whole contents of the jar. After lighting the candle, I found that it took quite a while to fill up a whole room. For around the first half an hour, it is difficult to notice the smell at all which is a shame. However, after some time the scent really does just fill the room. I have to admit that it is quite a sickly sweet scent, and definitely would not be to everyone's tastes. Although it was a sweet and perfumed scent, I just did not think that it smelt like honey and chocolate. I'm not sure why, but this is just my personal opinion. It is sweet, but do not go out of your way to buy this simply for the honey and chocolate scent. As I was just buying a candle to fragrance the room in general, I was not too bothered by this. The scent is still very lovely, and leaves the whole room filled with a sweet scent, making it extremely cosy.

Overall, Glade candles are always of an exceptional quality, and this is no exception. It smells lovely and burns for a good time. I would recommend hunting around and buying this when it is on offer, as I don't feel it is worth the full price. The smell is gorgeous once it finally fills up a room, however it just doesn't really smell like it is intended to. Thanks for reading.

Summary: A nice one for the winter months.
