Advantages: No lingering pongs

Disadvantages: none that I have found

I will confess that I bought this in order to make venturing into his tray a more pleasant experience for my cat Janga! It should be noted here that not once did he indicate a dislike to the litter tray, nor did I sense him wishing it smelt a little more "flowery" but I remained convinced this would be a kind thing for him!!

Purchased from my local pet shop and costing under £1 for 400g this is very similar in style to shake n vac - indeed they are both manufactured by Glade and it works on the same lines. You open a flap on the lid and shake onto the litter - don't hoover it up though!! - mix it in with the litter.

I never use a large amount and consequently the product lasts a very long time - more than a month at least.

So what of the claim and does my opinion match??

A fragranced powder additive, specially formulated to prevent the unpleasant odours left by cats.

By using Catsan I firmly believe I am getting the maximum odour prevention from my litter, however there is still the odd lingering smell which simply refuses to budge - this is where I find litter fresh invaluable. By mixing a little in every time I remove some soiled or damp litter I have found no more unpleasant aromas occassionally wafting round the hallway. It is quite a sweet, flowery smell and sightly overpowering at first - but not for long.

As for whether this has enhanced Janagas toilet experience - probably not, but it has enhanced the owners living quaters!

Summary: Works in conjunction with litter to leave a nicer smell!!

I use Catsan for Mew and may well get some of this as I know what you mean about the occasional pong that won't go away! Susan
