... lovely smell and its not a huge amount of effort to do. The cost of this product is around 70-80p and I normally purchase mine from Morrisons or Asda. They do tend to stock their own versions which are also equally as good. The shake and vac powder comes in a green bottle which is long and thin and it has a top which can be popped open. I would keep this away from children as they could easilly get into it. The fragerence I have is citrus blossom which has also odour neutroliser. The bottle holds 400g's and thi...more

Crowned Review Glade Shake N Vac: The Crap of Shake N Vac (1627 words)

Made by Glade which is part of SC Johnson Wax & Sons INC, this carpet freshener powder was made famous by the long haired dog and its owner swinging and singing to a catchy little song, "You do the Shake 'n' Vac and put the freshness back..." whilst optimistically pushing a green Hoover Ranger about the floor as if it was a lightweight mop! While I do vacuum daily, and shampoo every so often, every now and again an extra bit of freshening is nice to have. While ordinary bicarbonate of soda will generally absorb any odours actually present, it is not a super cheap alternative at supermarket prices, and Glade’s Shake n Vac does provide an easy alternative with the added bonus of a nice scent. Coming in a few ...

I had my niece to stay the other night and as she's laid on the carpet in front of the TV she says "Oooh Auntie Anne your carpet smells all fruity" so I guess the shake 'n' vac does work then, because before it used to smell (albeit very slightly) of dog! So what is shake 'n' vac? Well I'm sure most of you know because you've either used it or you've seen the ads where the woman dances round the room shaking it all over and then vacuuming it up all the times singing that annoying "do the shake and vac and put the freshness back" song! So, shake 'n' vac is a white powder it comes in various scents but my favourite is the Citrus ...
