Advantages: Fresh smelling carpet.

I though Shake and Vac was just a child hood memory until i found it gazing down at me from the shelf of Asda supermarket. Now my cupboard is always stocked with a few bottles.

Shake and Vac is a easy and quick way to get rid of nasty smells in your carpet. It will neutralise all sorts of smell including pet and dogs smells, tobacco, cooking odours and general old lingering smells. Its works by putting a layer or powder onto the carpet and then hoovering a few minutes later. Instant freshness without the need for wet cleaning.

Packet.

Shake and Vac comes in a long green tube. The one i have tells me on the lable that it is Lily Of The Valley smell with white flowers on the background, i'm guessing these flowers are Lily flowers. At the top of the bottle it has a darker green lid with a tab that easily flicks open to reveal two holes about the size of pea's. If you push the tab closed it shuts with a reasuring 'click' so you can store the tube if you have some left.
The packet is also made of 100% recycled material.

Using it.

Oh so easy! First flick the tab open and tilt the bottle so the powder begins to come out. Use actions from your wrist to shake the bottle fairly quickly from side to side. You will see the fine powder come out as a mist. It will settle on the carpet as a white dust. Once you have done the whole carpet leave for a few minutes, i usually leave for 10 minutes just to be sure. Then simply hoover. The effects are instant and so refreshing. The carpet smells clean and has a delicate smell of flowers. Its lovely!

My thoughts

I love this product, it is great if your having people round and need to freshen up your house and in total it only takes about 10-15 minutes to finish and most of that is waiting for the powder to work! Sadly the smell only lasts a few days and then you dont notice it any more however the carpet still smells clean if you get down on your knees and have a wiff.
I also had a problem with my upstairs carpet, the pile is quite short and it took several hooverings to get the white powder out of it.

If you are planning to do your whole house DO buy three or four bottles. One bottle only does my living room carpet, it uses more than you think!

I paid 98p from Asda which i must say is an utter bargin.

The bottle is 400g which as i said before covers one good sized room, the bottle says 16-18ft coverage whatever that is.

It also warns that it contains perfumes which some people and pets may be allergic to so remove yur animals before using.

Although i bought this from Asda i've not seen it anywhere else so unfortunatly i cant help you with where else to find it.
