I hate bad odours in my home and I go all out to get rid of them using everything from plug in air fresheners to fabric fresheners and I also regularly use Glade shake & vac. Shake and vac is a brilliant product that you simply sprinkle over your carpets, leave for a while then vacuum up.

It not only leaves a beautiful fresh smell on your carpets that wafts through your home but it also stops nasty niffs in your vacuum cleaner that you can often get.

I buy my shake and vac from the pound shop, I get two tubs for a pound but if your local pound shop does not stock this you can usually pick up a tub for around 80p. Shake and vac comes in a few different fragrances but my usual choice is citrus blossom. If I cannot get citrus blossom I am happy to use any of the others as they all smell very nice.

One tub holds 400g which covers around 18 square metres but of course you do not need to cover every inch of carpet just give each carpeted room a slight sprinkle, especially if you use it regularly.

I find one tub lasts me around two weeks used every second day and that in my mind is very good value for money!
