Glade Spiced Apple Candle


I have jumped onto the Christmas candle band wagon especially after reading quite a few positive Dooyoo reviews on Glade spiced apple candles. Last time I was doing the weekly shop I purchased a few for myself as Spiced Apple is one of my all time favourite scents for candles or room sprays, particularly this time of year because I associate it with the smell of Christmas.


As far as the fragrance of this candle it smells of what you would typically expect from a spiced apple fragrance, it also has a warming and rich smell that really smells of winter spices and cinnamon mixed with apple undertones. I liked that Glade haven't overly packaged these candles so you can have a quick sniff in the store before you purchase, but personally I think that this is a lovely Christmassy scent.


Sometimes with scented candles when you smell that actual candle it smells lovely and strong but then doesn't deliver on fragrance when it is lit, which happily is not the case with these Glade candles. Although this fragrance is not quite as strong as some other candles I own, which of course has its own plus and negative points. In some ways it is nice that unlike some Yankee candles I can leave this burning for longer without feeling overwhelmed by the smell. Personally I like to have candles burning on colder nights it makes me feel warmer and cosier. However, this means that of course the candle will not last as long. Overall, in my opinion the candle does produce a lovely aroma that will fill your room and is a pleasant background fragrance. Personally I do like that I can leave this burning for longer before the smell gets too strong.


The candle is advertised to have a typical longevity of approximately 30 hours, I am currently on my second Glade spiced apple candle and I would say that I found 30 hours to be more or less accurate. Admittedly I didn't time it but it did last for quite a while and it burned quite evenly all the way to the end. This is a time of year that I love to have candles burning and this is a really nice one to warm up the room with lovely flickering light and a rich warming scent.


Glade recommend that for best results you should allow this to burn for somewhere between 2 and 4 hours. I tend to only burn it for a maximum of 4 hours but usually only for 2 hours at a time and it does fill the room with a pleasant fragrance, especially if you close doors. I find that when you return back into a room you get a lovely burst of the fragrance all over again. When I came into our living room this morning after having the candle burning last night I could still smell the sweet spiced apple fragrance.


The candle comes complete in its own glass bowl so you don't need to go searching for a candle dish. The glass bowl has also been decorated in a red and Christmas Holly design that looks really nice and when the candle is lit the red of the candle combined with the red of the glass holder makes it nice visually to look at. The glass holder also feels quite solid, not that I have been throwing this around the house to check, but I wouldn't be too concerned if someone accidentally knocked it.


These candles are available to buy at most supermarkets and recently they have been on special selling at half price in Asda, reduced from £3 to £1.50. Personally, I would pay full price for these candles but at half price they are a fantastic bargain. In my opinion, I like this candle as much as some of my Yankee candles and this Glade candle is only a fraction of the price.


Overall, I have found this to be a lovely scented candle that looks good and is so far going strong, therefore, I am more than happy to give this a five out of five star rating. I would happily recommend this to other people and I am pleased that I decided to listen to other reviews on here and buy this for myself. I have actually bought a few more recently which I have wrapped up as small stocking filler type gifts.
