Glade With Love Candle
Being a fan of all nice smelling candles I was definitely going to purchase one of these when I saw them on offer for £1.50. The packaging has been updated, and the glass candle holder is covered in a softer pink color with a heart and swirl design. The glass container that the candle comes in is rather thin (I managed to break one in Wilkinsons once), so it is best to be a little careful with them, and as with all candles do use it on a protective surface. The glass is covered with a decorated layer of plastic / polythene - I have never had issues with these burning or melting - however they aren't impervious to meddling (I have a habit of peeling off labels - although this does make it reusable if you want to change the color scheme it it situated in)
The candle is a soft pink in color, as has 'A rich floral bouquet of sensual Jasmine blended with soft fruity notes' (taken from the Ocado website). I personally do feel the scent of Jasmine is obvious, although I think overall the floral tones are more obvious than the undertones of fruit (which to be honest I can't detect at all). I find the candle when lit for a few hours does scent the whole of my house if I have all of my doors open. The burning time is estimated to be 30hours - I have used mine for about six so far and haven't yet got half way down it, so this is probably on track to be right. It isn't as impressively scented as candles such as the Yankee range, but it does smell wonderful (it also has a much smaller price tag).
Overall I would buy these candles again, and feel it is well worth what I paid for it. The rices online seem to range from £2 (Asda) to £5 (Tesco and Ocado) a discount store local to me has them for £1.50 so it is worth shopping around.
They are definitely recommended -
Within my University room, it can often get quite stuffy, and I like to keep it clean and smelling fresh wherever possible. I get through cans of air fresheners to make it smell a bit better, but I have now fallen for candles for a more long lasting scent. There are not a great deal of shops around me, therefore I had a limited choice from my supermarket, and that was only the Glade jar candle range.
There are a variety of scents to choose from including more spicy scents which would probably be more for me, however in such a small room such as mine, I did not want anything too overpowering. This is why I settled for the 'With Love' fragrance as it is quite subtle and lovely. I purchased mine from Sainsburys, and these are available in most supermarkets, as well as being on Amazon if you are interested. It retails for around £3.50 which I think is quite expensive.
The reason for the hefty price tag may well be with what you get for your money. You do not just get a basic candle, you get it in a gorgeous jar. It is slightly different than displayed in the image, and it is now a very pale pink and white, with gorgeous pink swirls and hearts decorating it. It is a very feminine, beautiful design and makes the home a very welcoming place. The glass jar is gorgeous, and a reason enough to purchase the product, as once you run out of your candle, you can add more inside it, so overall I was extremely impressed with this.
It is simple to get out of the box and get started with, and I had mine going within a few seconds as I was eager to get started on it. I personally use a lighter for my candles as I feel it is a bit safer, particularly as I am in a University environment and do not wish to put those around me at risk. The jar does make it a little difficult to light the wick, particularly the further it burns down, and I have managed to burn my fingers a couple of times here and there from being careless. Overall though, the wick is a decent size and does light up as soon as flame comes into contact with it, so there is no messing around in that case. Once I have it burning, I ensure that the candle is pushed well back from the edge of the surface, and also ensure that it is away from anything flammable which may cause a fire. (Common sense is important, remember)!
Being such a subtle scent, it does take a little while to kick into action, therefore you can be waiting around thirty minutes or more just to notice it. Once it starts smelling the room though, it fills up everywhere quite suddenly which is lovely. Glade describe the scent as being "a rich, floral bouquet of sensual jasmine with soft, fruity notes". As you can imagine, this is a very floral, subtle and feminine scent, therefore making it perfect to burn in the background if you are having a chill out night, or perhaps if you are having a relaxing bath. It is also perfect for meal times on the dinner table as it is not too strong and sickly like many candles seem to be now. It is a lovely, light scent which fills the room, however I find it best to keep in my bedroom as it matches the pink, girly atmosphere of it!
As the candle burns away, it looks lovely lit up in the jar, particularly when lighting is low, and it leaves a lovely ambience within the room. A pool of wax fills up the jar once it has been burning for a while, however when the candle is blown out it solidifies quite quickly. One problem I have found with these jars is that the candle wax does get stuck around the edge of the jar which is a bit of a nightmare as it is difficult to remove and leaves it looking quite messy.
Glade state that this candle should burn for up to thirty hours, meaning you do get quite a good amount from this, but I have found that it is so difficult to light the candle the further it burns down, making it quite unsafe. I light this for around three or so hours at a time, and I would say that I am about two thirds of the way down, and 20 hours is probably about how much it has burned, therefore showing that the thirty hours as stated by Glade is accurate, unlike many other big brand claims.
Overall, I would recommend this candle to those who are seeking a subtle, feminine scent to fill their home with. Look out for this in your local supermarket as it is often on offer, and it is simply worth the price for the lovely jar, as well as the gorgeous scent it fills the room with. I will be knocking off one star simply for the fact that the shape of the jar does make it difficult to light the wick sometimes which could be a nuisance to some people. A great, well rounded candle which delivers everything else to a high quality. Thanks for reading.
When it comes to candles I have rather a few of them scattered about my home as not only do I like the usually soft fragrances they give off gradually and over time, look pretty and give a nice light but also I feel they are less harmful around my hamsters than air freshener and the likes and believe me I do need some sort of scent and odour destroyer in my flat with a farty bum of a flatmate and 4 hamsters! lol
This candle costing £3.00 I got when my boyfriend last came to visit. I hadn't ever heard of this particular fragrance before but did like the initial sniff of it in the shop and think thought that the jar it came in was pretty and girly looking so treated myself to it for my bedside cabinet!
The candle comes in a round, glass jar of which the candle wax is set into and there is plenty of it hard set too. Over that you get a pink square box which is open ended to one side of it so you can see the product you are purchasing. On the front and the top of the box we are told of course that it is Glade 'With Love' and that it should last for up to 30 hours and there is photograph depicting hearts and petals on there. Other information on the box includes warnings, the size is given which is 120g and contact details for S.C Johnson are given. Nice enough, minimal packaging this is and its recyclable!
The Candle Itself:
Well the jar is very pretty with its white and pink plastic label all around it with a darker pink swirl pattern on it and pictures of hearts. its a sophisticated design. The jar is then filled up with a whitish colour wax and it has a large wick to the centre of it and your meant to of course light this wick and allow it to burn for no more than 4 hours at a time. I found the jar bottom to go warm but not so hot and that I didn't need anything underneath it to stop it marking things and once lit it gave off a nice glow.
However I had a couple of problems with this. It was easy to light and the scent was a very gentle floral one which was pleasant, pretty and a warm fragrance although for me (and my needs) it simply wasn't all that detectable. The second issue being that I never let it burn for more than three hours a time and I noticed that the top of my glass jar had got a black, sooty stain around it. The other problem was that the sticky plastic label on the outside started to peel away making it look a bit cheap and nasty.
I did however find it simple to use and do think it gives about 25 hours use (well it did me till I threw it out) and all in all for £3.00 it was a nice and pretty buy but really the scent needs to be stronger and revamped on this one for me to contemplate ever purchasing it again!
Available in all good supermarkets etc.

Glade is a home fragrance company part of SC Johnson. They offer a range of sprays, candles, gels and plug in sprays designed to fragrance the home keeping it fresh.
Glade Candles are candles infused with fragrance oils to provide a gentle glow and scent around your home. Glade release Limited Edition candles dependant on the season but there are a few fragrances which are available all year round. The current collection includes the following fragrances :
*Brazilian Mango Flower
*Magnolia and Vanilla
and then we have With Love. With Love scent is available in a liquid plug in freshener and also a candle. The candle is claimed to last 30hours of burning time. The scent is described as being "a rich, floral bouquet of sensual jasmine with soft fruity notes".
You don't just get a plain candle here..you get a round, glass jar which contains a mound of white wax with a centred wick. With Love comes in a beautifully designed jar which has recently been updates so isn't exactly like the one shown in the picture. The jar is a transparent pink formed by wrapping a plastic label around it tightly - I discovered this as mine doesn't seem to be complete along the rim. The label is decorated with dark pink swirls, plant images and smooth love hearts confirming its With Love status.
The candle comes in a partially opened box with love heart symbols. It is pink and red making it recognisable from the other candles on the shelf. Setting up is a doddle as you remove it from the box. Placing it is most important as it must be placed away from fabrics, electricals and on a flat surface. Common sense will tell you this is a product which does get hot and therefore should never be used around children or animals and should always be attended.
Lighting the candle with require the use of a lighter or match depending on your preference. The further down the wick goes, the harder it will be to light so long candles are recommended. Whilst 30hours can be obtained from this candle, it should never be burned for more than a few hours at any given time.
*~*Availability and Price*~*
These candles can be purchased from supermarkets and stores such as Wilkinsons. The retail price is around £3.50 but they can often be found at half price or reduced price so look out for offers!
My home is my sanctuary and I like it to smell lovely. I would be highly embarressed if a visitor entered my house and founded it to be niffy! During the winter months, I need to dry clothes in the house and this leads to damp smells which are simply awful. I can open the windows and balcony during the nicer months but its just too nippy to do so just now. Dotted around my home in less obvious places, you will find plug ins and sprays. I also like candles and my heart lies with Yankee Candles but over the past few months, I have been picking up Glade Candles whilst I see them on offer.
My latest purchase was about 3weeks ago when I spotted these candles on offer at £1.49 in Morrisons. I have sampled a few different scents but went with With Love following a recommendation from a dooyoo/ciao buddy. The candle itself was adequately and beautifully packaged allowing me to see and smell before purchasing. I burn candles mainly at night time when either my son is in his bed or when he is at his Grans for a sleepover.
Whilst sprays and plug ins for the benefit of anyone who enters my home, candles is really just for me. I find them ideal to place on my unit and allow a gentle glow to create a homely feel. I love scented candles in particular as its lovely to have a scent to accompany a glow and make it all that more special. The design of the glass jar sets this apart from other brands. It is simply pretty and well designed to fit in with any colourscheme really. The pink is slightly see through and you can see where the wax starts.
*~*Light Up My Life With Love*~*
I am terrified of working a lighter or match so I always ask my fiance to light my candles using the lighter we have. The wax inside is solid and he finds it easier to tip it up and light that way. The wick starts off at a decent length but of course as the candles burns down, the wick goes with it. After half of the candle is gone, lighting this becomes almost impossible so I have kept by the nearly empty jars until I can get some long matches!
I always place this away from anything that can cause issues with it but in a place where I can see it. The candle once lit provides a reasonably big flame. From a distance the glow through the glass is rather orange instead of its intended pink. It is a generous glow but when my lights are turned off, it reflects only slightly off the wall and flickers away gently. Its quite soothing and relaxing and it helps me wind down.
The scent like many of the other scents, takes a while to develop and I would say around 1hr after lighting does the scent come into action. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of scent as the last candle I bought was Winter Berries and you knew what would come through there. With Love doesn't exactly give much away. The first hour only offers that typical candle smell like you find when you are lighting one for a birthday cake!
Soon after, the white wax melts around the wick into a clear, runny puddle. The scent gradually lifts up into the air but doesn't overpower. Its not a scent that will interupt your dinner or make your eyes watery. It is subtle, clean and fresh to start off. The jasmine is very gentle and comes across as light and sweet to begin with. As it lingers softly around my livingroom, it intensifies a bit producing a more sensual and deep floral arrangement whilst keeping that generous sweet undertone shining through.
I burn my candle for around 3-4hours most nights and ensure it is fully blown out before I go to bed. By morning, the wax solidifies awaiting its next use. I noticed that the wax burns down a bit more evenly with With Love but some still gathers around the outside of the jar which I can't really do anything about. I would say I have managed around 15hours from this so far and the rest will get used up when I get long matches!
*~*Recommendation and Conclusion*~*
I love the With Love candle..it is so pretty and smells subtle but beautiful. It glows gently around my room creating a warm, welcoming appearance and helps me to relax and chill out at night time. It is well priced considering how long you get from it so I highly recommend it.
Thanks for reading,
With love..Laura xxx
I love candles- I love the smell, I love the candle light, I love how relaxed they make you feel. Consequently I have many decorating my bedroom and like to light them rather than using than as an ornament.
I felt like a treat the other day, and although I already have many I decided I'd get one more for my collection. Wilkinsons has become my new favourite shop as everything in there is such a bargain, they have the Glade candles on sale in there for the bargain price of £1.50. Now I am absolutely positive that these cost more at other shops and supermarkets, though please correct me if I am wrong.
They had some other varieties on at this price but I went for the With Love candle. The candle itself is held in an extremely pretty pink jar that I think I will keep as an ornament when I have done with it! It goes from pink on the top and fades to a whitish pink at the bottom. In a darker pink it has a pretty swirl along the sides.
The candle itself is white in colour. The main thing that attracted to me this candle over any others in the shop, was the smell. It smells beautiful and sweet, even when not lit. It is a very feminine fragrance, and immediately made me feel smile and girly. On inspection of the packet it is described as a rich floral bouquet of sensual jasmine blended with soft fruity notes. It really is divine- you must try it!
On lighting the candle, the fragrance is released stronger. I like the Glade candles as their fragrance smells stronger than any other general candles on sale. Thus giving my room a beautiful smell whilst also looking pretty. The candle burns for approx 30 hours- so my room is gonna smell great for a couple of weeks :-)
I will definitely be investing in this one again :-)
I have heard nothing but good things about Glade scented candles but I always decided against purchasing one because of the price. At £3.00 each I thought it was a little expensive. Thanks to reading a review on this particular candle recently, I discovered that these were now half price at Tesco.
There are various fragrances available in the range but With Love was one of my favourites.
Glade, part of SC Johnson has been a trusted household name for as long as I can remember and always deliver good quality products for the home.
The packaging has been recently redesigned from the picture that can be seen which gives it a slightly cleaner, more up to date look. The Candle itself is contained in a very pretty, decorative glass pot with swirls and hearts. The colours used are delicate peaches and pinks which really help to represent the scent. The glass pot is sold housed in a cardboard sleeve with a picture of hearts on the front and top. A corner of the sleeve is cut away making it easy to smell the scent of the candle within.
The wax is cream in colour, and when sniffed directly, smells quite strong. The fragrance is described on the sleeve as "A rich floral bouquet of sensual jasmine blended with soft fruity notes", and I feel this is quite an apt description.
After lighting the wick, I could soon detect the fruity floral aroma which quickly began to fill the room. I would say this is quite a sweet scent but not sickly like some can be. The candle is strong enough to fragrance a room, but the aroma is not overpowering.
The candle is meant to last for up to 30 hours but as yet, I cannot comment on this.
Overall, this is a good alternative to aerosol and plug-in fragrances and not only goes it give off a lovely scent, it radiates a lovely warm glow when being used in a dimly lit room. Of course, candles can be dangerous so I would advise placing this in a safe place when lit to avoid any accidents.

I do love my house to smell nice and I burn a lot of scented candles. At the moment Glade Scented Candles are half price at £1.50. They can be found in most major supermarkets, I get mine from Tesco.
I've been buying a couple of these a week while they are on offer. The one I'm currently burning is called With Love and its my favourite one so far.
All glade candles come in a little cardboard wrapper with one corner cut out so you can see the design on the glass jar and also give it a good sniff.
With Love is in a pink and white box with pink hearts on it. Each Glade Candle comes in a round glass container with slightly curved edges. This is approximately 3 inches high and the same round. The wax is a lovely pale pink colour and comes ¾ of the way up the jar.
The Glade candle containers all have a plastic wrapper stretched over them. With love has a pretty pink and white one with swirly hearts, it has a slight pearly look to it when its not lit.
On the bottom of the box Glade describe their candle as "A rich floral bouquet of sensual jasmine blended with soft fruity notes" This is so accurate. The jasmine is the strongest fragrance and its so sweet. Its fairly strong but definitely not overpowering. There is a slight fruity element to the smell but mainly its jasmine.
When lit the fragrance soon begins to emerge and soon fills the whole house with a sweet floral jasmine smell. The smell masks any cooking smells, a particular problem for me because downstairs my home is all open plan, and leaves my home fresh. In fact when I walk past the candle while its not lit I still get a lovely whiff of sweet jasmine.
Glade tell us that their candles burn for up to 30 hours, I tend to think this is a bit stretched, it does depend on how the candle burns down. However I consider them excellent value for just £1.50.
Most of the time the candles burn down evenly but occasionally you get one with the wick off centre and get left with some un melted wax. I hate waste and always use this in my burner, but as I said mostly they burn down quite nicely.
The glass jars are too pretty to throw away and I use them afterward to put a t light or potpourri in.
I would recommend the Glade candles especially at the moment, With Love has it all. A pretty container and a fabulous smelling wax that will sweeten your entire home. Lovely!
Glade do recommend that you don't move the candle whilst it is alight as the glass does get very hot. Also keep away from children, never burn candles near curtains and never leave a burning unattended.
After reading some very good reviews about this candle and some of the other fragrances, I thought I would buy this one since it was my wife's birthday a couple of days ago and I cooked her a nice meal in the evening and wanted to make it a little more special for the occasion and also appear a little more romantic lol. I like to think I am a romantic but wanted to be extra special this time lol.
The candle sits inside a glass jar and it is very attractive. It is a nice pink colour for a romantic setting if being used for that purpose as it was in my home. The candle wax inside is a nice shade of pink, which and the wick is a good length to light the candle too and not too near the wax as I have found some other brands of candles to be in the past.
The pattern on the glass jar is a nice one too, this candle is supposed to give up to 30 hours use and although I have not tested it for that length of time, the candle does not appear to be used so fast and so I would think it would last the time stated on the cardboard box this candle is in when it is bought.
The fragrance from the candle is a nice one, I think it smells of fresh flowers, it can be smelled when I entered the room the first time I used it. The room I used it in at the time is not a large room but I could smell the fragrance of it and while having our meal it was quite a pleasant smell for us both and the setting was quite romantic with the candle in the middle of the table.
As the candle is in a jar, I found it did not burn or mark the other places that I placed it after the meal, I was at first dubious if it would be safe or not but it certainly was fine and my furniture has been fine, which is a good thing as then it did not need to be placed onto mat or coaster etc as I often do with some other brands.
This was priced at just £1.50 from Tesco and it was on special offer recently for half the usual price, and that is why I thought after reading the reviews I would try it and see for myself if it was a nice one or not. It certainly is a really nice candle for my liking and I will buy it again even at the usual price because I just think it is an excellent value for money and also a very good quality product indeed.
These candles come in a variety of different fragrances to suit every personal taste and mood, also for different occasions such as the one I mentioned earlier in my review. My wife also loved the smell of this one and was very pleased with the product as much as myself.
I think this one also gives off a nice light in a room for the size of the jar and candle, as sometimes we just like to have candles lit around the room but sometimes they are not scented ones but this one gives that little bit extra touch to a room and I will buy it again in the future. I highly recommend it for people to buy, especially while on offer as I think it is a superb candle.
I rate it 5 stars.
My beautiful sick cat passed away last Thursday afternoon suddenly after a long illness and I bought this candle in memory of her as it is named With Love, and since I had been buying lots of air fresheners and candles to make my home smell nicer because of my cats illnesses, I had recently bought one of these candles in a different fragrance and so I wanted to buy another fragrance as I think they are fabulous and give off a lovely fragrance for my home, I really love candles and this one is a very good brand of fragranced candles and very reliable, and worth the money, I have been buying lots of different sprays etc for my home recently to make it smell a little better.
It comes in a cardboard box, the candle is placed inside a round shaped glass jar, the jar is very pretty too, it is pink and white, it has hearts and a swirl pattern and looks very attractive where ever it is placed around the home, the candle is a pretty pale pink in colour, it has a beautiful scent when not lit, but when it is being used it smells gorgeous, it is a beautiful Jasmine fragrance and smells of flowers in my opinion, the candle lasts for up to 30 hours.
Once this candle is lit, the smell is apparent immediately and the smell does not stop until the candle distinguished, I really love the smell of this one as I did the other one I bought, in a different fragrance, the quality is amazingly good with this one, I think it is beautiful to use for a romantic evening or setting, maybe for Valentine's day or any special occasion, it is just as nice to use in a bedroom, which is the room I have placed this one at the moment, as my bedroom is pink and it matches perfectly.
The wax melts beautifully and it is very safe inside the glass jar, and I have placed this on lots of surfaces as it does not get to hot, and I have found it has not marked any of my furniture around my home, I did place it on a wooden table in my hallway and it was perfectly fine on it too, and so it can be go anywhere around the home with safety.
It is always advisable to distinguish it after use and never leave the home if it is alight, but that is just common sense in my opinion, I think this would look beautiful placed on the side of a bath, and although I do not have a bath in my home now, just a shower, I think it would look lovely placed in this area, as lots of people love candles in the bathroom while taking their bath.
I still have one cat and a neighbours cat that almost lives with me, and I have found it does keep the pet smells at bay around the home, which we all have if have pets, and I find that when I leave a room and close the door and enter again, the fragrance of this is so apparent and lovely and just the way I love a room to smell.
Sorry if I appear silly but I just wanted to write this review about the candle I bought in memory of my lovely beautiful 19 year old cat with love.
I give this 5 stars.
Thank you very much for reading my review.
Where to buy...
This is avialable at Tesco, Coop, Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons.
Also at Ocado online.
RRP is £3. These have been BOGOF at Tesco for ages and are currently (November 2010) available at half pirce (£1.50 ) at Tesco, Coop and Asda - at least, ideal.
For £1.50 i have bought a stockpile (well, 6!) - I also got a few for my mum for her Xmas stocking, they're quite nice and i know she'll like them.
Says it lasts 30 hours at least - and does.
This is a solid, white candle inside a glass jar with a plastic coat.
The plastic coat makes it appear as if the glass jar is painted, but it is a plastic sheet with a pattern on it which is removable. The With Love cover is pink and white with hearts and petals as a pattern.
I hasten to add that the pattern is not the same as the one in the picture attached, so check it out before you buy.
The packaging is randomly really negative. My nan would say 'health and safety gone mad'! Tells you every danger imaginable (allergy, harm to fish, be careful with kids, make sure you clean and don't use candles as an alternative...etc.).
The scent is sweet, but not sugary, if that makes sense. I like flowery smells. I have Lillies in my kitchen because of their scent, pollen be damned! I like rose hand and face wash. I hate Lavendar, with a passion. This isn't OTT. It smells of Freesias, Bluebells in the spring.
At £1.50 this is excellent. I have one either side of my woodburner - ideal. Looks nice and smells nice. When i'm done, i take them upstairs and add tea lights - works well.
I have tried the Relaxing Zen Glade Candle also, which i actually prefer the packaging for - it fits my decor better.
There are several Glade Candle options - Relaxing Zen is a green candle, packaging is cream & beige - hence better for me. I also have Honey and Chocolate - not tried that yet though.
The Glade US website has these on it. The UK website is SCJohnson and oddly doesnt feature these products despite listing SCJohnson on the packaging.
For £1.50, these are worth every penny.
Glade with love candle
With valentines Day over a visit to my local Sainsburys found me buying some of these candles at half price. I tend to like the Glade products and decided that they were a bargain and wouldn't disappoint.
This candle is sold in a cardboard sleeve, with all the information on the back of the sleeve. When I take out the candle, the candle is a nice dark pinky red and sits in a rounded glass jar. Naturally since this is marketed for valentines Day there are black outlines of hearts painted randomly around the red jar.
The instructions tell me to trim the wick to 5mm but I hadn't read the instructions before lighting it, and it didn't have any adverse effects. When I light the candle it lets off a nice glow through the painted glass, and the smell is almost instantly discernible. The information on the candle sleeve tells me that this is a rich floral bouquet of jasmine with soft fruity notes.- obviously perfect for those romantic meals! For the aroma to really fill the room, it's best to burn the candle for 2-4 hours, as suggested in the instructions.
There are certain warnings such as keep the candle away from children, don't move while the candle is lit, and warns that this is for indoor use only.
The candle is made by SC Johnson, and there is lots of information on the website, www.glade.com. It seems there is a candle for almost every occasion. This cost me £1.50 from Sainsbury but the RRP is £3.
I do as suggested and tend to burn the candle for about three hours at a time and definitely for no longer than 4 hours. It has already lasted 5 days of this type of burning and there is I believe a few days left.
The candle lights easily and unlike some candles does burn right to the bottom of the jar. I hate it when there is a lot of the wax wasted around the edges or when the wick disappears and has to be gauged out of the wax to light. It lets off a very subtle but discernible scent of flowers although i am not sure that jasmine is the most noticeable. All in all though, a very nice smell and not one which has to be confined to Valentines Day.
A great candle for eliminating odours, and one which I would recommend for use any time you are wanting a nice floral scent.
Thanks for reading.
Scented candles are a funny subject with me.. I know waht I like and I very rarely go off the beaten track. But, a special offer last year in my Supermarket that was really impossible to pass up resulted in me purchasing two candles from this range, one of which was 'With Love' from Glade.
Glade and the Johnson & Johnson group have countless adverts on the television promoting scented products and are well known and trusted by millions across the world. However, they still had me to convince.
I chose 'With Love' by smelling the candle through the specially designed hole in the box. You can clearly see the pretty design on the jar, and all the burning information and product information is printed on the box it's inside.
The scent is a fruity, floral, tangy mix with some low notes too. Its a wake up for the senses. When I first smelt it in the shop, I put it down fearing it would be too overpowering for my flat but something kept drawing me back to it and I found myself picking it up and smelling it over and over until it ended up in my basket.
I returned home and unwrapped the candle, putting it in my hallway - it wasnt even lit, but the smell was incrediable, wafting through my home almost immediately. That evening I lit the candle in my kitchen for about 3 hours. I was a bit confused why it had tunnelled and why the melted wax had not hit the side of the jar after such a long burn time as usually a candle would hit the side of the jar after such a lenght of time burning, but obviously the heat hadnt penetrated that far in the time.
I burnt the candle quite often over the course of two weeks, and eventually all the wax had melted and I am now left with a lovely little jar to sore things in. even the tunnelling turned out ok, as the flame melted it eventally anyway so no wax was wasted.
