Introduction

I noticed that a few of my white towels were starting to look a bit faded and grubby. As we all know decent towels cost a lot of money and are not something that we really like to have to replace very often. I was having a coffee at, my friend's house and commented on how lovely her white duvet was when she took it out of the washing machine. I use Glowhite she said and I have to say that it was a product that I was none too familiar with, so after taking a look at the box she had in the house I went off to my local Morrison's with the express purpose of buying this product in the hope that it would bring some life back into my poor towels.

The Packaging

You can find this product in the household section, next to washing powders and fabric conditioners. It cost £1.67 for a pack of five 40g sachets which I thought was a bit excessive however I wanted bright white towels so that's the price you've got to pay I suppose. The box is white and quite petite sized so easily missed. It has the Dr. Beckmann logo on the front and states that this is the Glowhite version of the product. It also explains that this is super whitener with UV sun protection. The reverse of the packaging tells you a little about the manufacturers, instructions for use and additional important information

Who Is Dr. Beckmann?

He is one of the owners of ACDOCO which is a family owned company and has been established since 1919. (Dr.Beckmann one of the later partners I hasten to add). They provide a range of products that are easy to use, are high performing and effective. In providing the best specialist cleaners available. There slogan is "if it says Dr. Beckmann on the pack, then you know it works, because we care about cleaning" The Beckmann brand has been on the market for over 30 years and is the number 1 stain remover in Europe apparently.

The Product

I opened the box and took out one of the sachets inside. I have to say I was surprised that it wasn't sealed in any other individual packaging. They looked like giant teabags. Perforated and filled with the special whitening powder which was light yellow in colour. There was an extremely prominent lemony fresh fragrance too. I sneezed a couple of times so would recommend not sniffing the product too much if you suffer from allergies like myself. It was extremely pleasant smelling very fresh and clean. Well so far so good.

Application and Results

Using this product is a breeze. Pop one of the porous sachets into the back of the washing machine drum on top of the items which you require to be whitened. Then add your usual washing detergent as normal. The whitening agent works on a wide variety of fabrics and temperatures so you can use on a 30 degree wash or as high as 95 degrees if so desired. Once the wash cycle has finished remember to remove the empty sachet.

Overall

The manufacturers claim that by using this product that it will make dull whites super white in addition it will add a sun protection to safeguard you, your family and your clothes. Does it work well I am pleased to report that yes it did. My poor towels where much brighter and had new life breathed into them. I was very impressed that the whites just weren't white but truly dazzling white. I have to say I was slightly sceptical about using this item initially however I will certainly be using it again and would recommend it to all. Excellent results 5 stars.
