I wear a lot of silver jewellrey and have tried all sorts of cleaners over the years, I have even tried coke but the best way in my opinion is to use this cleaner by Goddards.

The dip comes in a clear plastic tub with a plastic basket inside to pop your jewellrey into and lower into the solution; it does smell very strong but certainly does the trick.

I Have found it best to dip items for about ten seconds and then rinse them straight away in water before drying them with a piece of kitchen towel, this stops the silver going a horrible brown colour after a few days.

Some rings and intricate pieces need a bit of a scrub with a toothbrush before rinsing but it takes seconds with this solution and brings everything up gleaming.

Shell, pearls and opals should not be dipped into this cleaner because they are porous stones but I just dip the toothbrush and clean the silver part of the jewellrey piece.

Goddards silver dip can be used over and over and only needs to be replaced when the solution starts to look cloudy. Mine usually lasts about six months.

There are a lot of picture frames and ornaments on the market nowadays made with artificial oxidized silver plate and this solution should not be used on this at all, a good tip for it though is to use neat washing up liquid and a sponge, the tarnish just lifts off and leaves the item gleaming.

For me it is a worthwhile purchase to keep my silver jewellery sparkling and at a cost of 2.25 from Woolworth's a very good bargain.
