Advantages: Low energy, efficient

Disadvantages: Rubbish choice of coloured bases

Yes, indeed ! my dad has just bought one of these Goodsphere thingies.
Basically, it's an air purifier/cleanser and ioniser.
Comes with a glass (not plastic, like some others) main bowl and an optional coloured base.
the idea is that you fill the bowl with tap water, add some of the supplied fragrances, which you can also buy seperately.
Turn on the Goodsphere and it more or less draws impurities from the air and pulls them into the water - you can actualy see the formaerly clear water turn very murky as time goes by !
You can add any fragrance you like - those available include sandalwood, lavendar and vanilla.
Approximate retail price for the basic Goodsphere is £28.00, but you can also purchase a coloured light-up base for it to stand on (blue or red, I believe) - which almost creates the illusion of a lamp - nice and relaxing as the water swishes round.
The unit itself uses little energy - about the same as a 10 watt light bulb - so is cheap to run continuously.

Summary: Nice effect - and a useful gadget
