Advantages: ECO-FRIENDLY, PLANT-BASED WASHING UP LIQUID THAT DELIVERS AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE!
Disadvantages: NONE- YOU HAVE 'NO' EXCUSE FOR NOT PURCHASING THIS - SO DO IT!
There were three main factors that encouraged me to buy this item on spotting it in my local Wilkos store a month ago now. The packaging, the price - plus the product information.
I could not specify as to what order of importance this trio ran, but what I can categorically state is that the environmental information provided swung the purchasing deal for me, folks.
Seldom am I so drawn into a seemingly simple household article's blurb, but this entire product fascinated me the very second I clapped eyes on it!
Shopping specifically for a dish detergent as mine was running dangerously low (as an OCD sufferer such small things matter, trust me!), I was perusing the washing up liquids on display, and there were quite an array let me tell you...
Like a covetous Magpie, the shiny see-through packaging caught my keen consumer eye: I found the slanting, tapering to the top 500ml plastic bottle ascetically pleasing, the simple two-tone 'Green Force' logo interesting as I had not heard of this brand before - plus a tiny flowered 'Vegan' emblem was situated on the bottle right hand side of the pack - which further intrigued me.
Leaning to pick one up and read the tiny black printed writing on both the front and the back of the container, I was immediately struck with the environmental passion this product's ethos displayed.
My daughter, who accompanied me on my shopping jaunt to carry my laden basket of goods, started becoming impatient at the inordinate amount of time I was spending on reading the information provided - until I explained my ecological reasons for doing so.
We are both - my child and I - trying to become more environmentally aware, 'friendlier' to our planet, if you will.
Being a firm believer in small steps by individuals achieving a bigger impact overall by many; I was intrigued by this transparent liquid that stated it was 'Specially formulated to limit the impact on the environment without compromising performance', plus '100% natural fragrance' (a huge plus for a dermatitis sufferer such as myself), and claimed to perform 'better than the leading Eco brand'.
Hmm, interesting stuff, eh?
Reading further there were so many more plus points for me; not withstanding the remarkably reasonable price of 73p, which undercuts many conventional leading washing up liquid varieties - including this solution is made in the UK.
Recyclable packaging of course as would be expected from such a product.
The manufacturer's 'McBride' also stipulate this mixture is thankfully not tested on animals...another huge plus point in this liquid's favour methinks.
There is also a list or cautions and warnings such as keeping away from children, not to ingest, avoid eye contact, plus sensitive skin should not be in prolonged contact - in addition to closing the pop up cap after use.
Other snippets of the bottle include how it 'Cuts through grease', alongside being formulated from 'Plant based cleaning ingredients'...and here we get to the crux of the matter for me.
Could a cleaning solution 'derived from plant sources: Coconut and Sustainable Palm Oil' do the job it professes to do as well as its coloured, fragranced, and more chemically enhanced counterparts?
Well the proof is in the bubbly pudding so on diluting a liberal squirt into a bowl full of nice hottish water I set to work to test this Green Force detergent's results...
Containing Citral and Limonene, the fresh smell of the suds was distinctly and pleasantly lemony as would be expected; but what amazed me was the amount of soapy, soft suds this clear mixture created - it was wonderful!
Admittedly, I was dubious as to how something that claimed to be so Eco friendly could not have its performance reduced, considering the emphasis on plant based cleaning agents added - but it was a fantastic cleansing result on my dishes.
Squeaky clean and shiny would be no exaggeration; my pots were left gleaming and I can honestly say the performance of the strong bubbles was excellent.
There was no dissipation over time as can happen with cheap and nasty brands- and I practically had to fight to rinse the persistent little soap suds down the plug hole they were 'that' resistant and hardy!
I have had worse results from more expensive brands I can tell you!
Grease was tackled with no problem, and crucially there was no aftertaste of anything chemically 'Yucky' lurking on any of my crockery/cutlery/pans surfaces.
Lemon is known to be a natural oil obliterator - and it was very effective indeed against any fat residue left over from any cooked meals.
Gravy grease, animal fats, cooking oil sprays, tiny globules of after-wastage from various foodstuffs all deftly dealt with by my new wonder washing up liquid!
Neither were my hands unduly dried out as they can tend to be in these sorts of dilutables; no chaffing, soreness of general tightening of the skin occurred post-use.
I was truly delighted, and could not fault it one iota!
In addition, Green Force's reduced chemical concoction lasted me over three weeks, and I don't have the luxury of a dishwasher (well a non-human one anyway!), so it was heavily used.
It was almost with a hint of melancholy that I emptied the final full squirt into my washing bowl last week, before having a Dooyoo epiphany to 'Suggestion Request', in an attempt to spread the word to please try this product if you are lucky enough to come across it on your consumer travels...
The Vegan emblem can be investigated further on www.vegansociety.com, but basically denotes this item is suitable for both Vegetarian and Vegan usage as one way of cutting one's Eco-footprint.
Whilst I do not profess to following either commendable lifestyle, I am trying to become more conscious in my purchases to help the planet as a whole - but felt it very important to emphasis another buying option for those of us who do partake in more ethical/healthier lifestyle choices.
Additionally for me, it was an interesting point that there are many less obvious ways to stay true to Vegetarian/Vegan admirable principles than just ethical food options.
I learnt something new in buying Green Force's fabulous plant-based detergent - that there are other options becoming available out there to stop us polluting out beautiful planet so violently. I have been guilty in both the past and the present of doing so, but hope I can try and make amends wherever possible by becoming a more responsible shopper.
Needless to say for a brilliantly cleansing performance, I am thrilled to award an excellent washing up liquid a well deserved 5 supple and soapy ecological Stars today!
Top Tip
*******
Once empty, refill your container with tepid water and use to refill your car's screen wash container - it's a cheap and cheerful alternative to more colour/chemical enhanced screen wash solutions!
Alternatively, if you have plants in your garden being attacked by greenfly/aphids douse with a spritz of this - yes it actually works!
And remember - 'RECYCLE' once finished with - you know it makes environmental sense!
