Advantages: Removes limescale you can't see without the need to scrub.

Disadvantages: Only cleans part of the toilet

The words 100% lime scale remover on the packaging of this product really didn't convince me. I had read similar amazing claims before and never been completely satisfied with the 'power' of any toilet cleaner I had tried.

Domestos, Toilet Duck, Parazone, Tesco's Own, Asda's Own, had all failed to satisfy me. Maybe I was expecting too much. All I really wanted was something I could put into the toilet, leave it and flush. Sparkling cleanliness, no germs and no lime scale didn't seem too much to ask.

These tablets did part of that job but not the whole thing.

The tablets come in packs of eight and each tablet is individually wrapped for convenience and safety. This type of product is caustic so care in handling is important, as is safe storage. The recommended dose is one tablet left in the loo for six hours, but if there is already lime scale build up two tablets should be left in over night.

I used just one because, in spite of my problems with other products of this kind, I had always scrubbed the bowl clean. I left the tablet to fizz and foam and looked in the morning, expecting to have to get out the loo brush and finish the job. I was correct. The area below the waterline and down into the bend was spotless but I still had to get the loo brush and another brand of toilet cleaner to clean the rim and the rest of the bowl. A quick swish with the brush a flush wasn't enough to do the job.

This product didn't smell a very good either. It had a very strong chemical aroma like very strong disinfectant and something in the composition of it made me sneeze constantly until I left the room. If you have allergies this might be a consideration.

The manufacturers recommend that a tablet is used once a week to prevent lime scale build up. I use it once a week to clean 'round the bend' but I am still hunting for a really good toilet cleaner.

I paid £2.63 for the box of eight tablets. This is a reasonable price if they are used once a week to clean the bits you can't see in the toilet but you will still need to buy cleaner fort he rest of the bowl. This is not a complete toilet cleaner. The foam bubbles up and cleans the lower areas but doesn't cover the whole thing.

Summary: This is a limescale remover, not a toilet cleaner.

We use their limescale cleaner but the liquid variety in the toilet duck shape bottle, it's always worked really well.

I have found most of these products ineffective compared to domestos, rubber gloves, a scrubber and the force of scrubbing!! Great review
