Advantages: dual function; candlestick or tealight, cheap
Disadvantages: none
I have probably about a dozen of these Neglinge candle holders from Ikea dotted all around my house.
They are just 49 pence each, and they are actually a dual function candle holder; one side holds a candlestick, and the other side holds a tealight.
These are clear glass candle holders, and they are actually really quite heavy and substantial, something that really impressed me for just 49 pence each.
If you place the candle holder on the larger flat side then the hole in the top is suitable for a candlestick. And if turn the candle holder the other way up and place it on the smaller base then the hole in the top is suitable for a tealight. You get two completely different looks in one candle holder.
Because these are just clear glass they will match any table setting or any decor. They are a very simple shape yet I find that they actually look quite classy, simple and elegant out on display. I use these candle holders both ways depending on the situation, and I find that they look especially effective if you use half as tealight holders and half as candlestick holders both out on display together.
I do put these candle holders in my dishwasher from time to time to get rid of any bits of wax on the candle holder, they come up perfectly clean, and they have been absolutely fine in my dishwasher.
These are very easy to stack on top of one another in a kitchen cupboard for storage, I do only stack mine 2 or 3 high as I don't want them to topple over though.
My only slight gripe with these is that if you let a candlestick burn down completely in these, then it is very difficult to remove the last bit of wax in the bottom. You really do need to blow out the candle whilst there is still a little bit of it protruding from the holder to enable you to grip it and pull out.
All in all though I cannot fault these, especially for the low price. I would absolutely wholeheartedly reccomend these to anyone.
