Izal toilet paper must have been invented by somebody who was severely constipated and had a grudge against people who weren't. Why else would someone invent a slippy, water repellent toilet paper? Obviously someone must use it because it is still on sale sixty odd years after it was invented, there can't be that many people in the world too mean to fork out for tracing paper! I remember reading years ago, about a chap who was worried about the possibility that Izal would be withdrawn from sale. He calculated how many squares he used a week, multiplied that by 52, took a guess at how many more years he would live, did the maths, and bought a ... Read the complete review

I recently had reason to use a public restroom in a restaurant in Glasgow. To my astonishment and absolute horror there were rolls of Izal piled up atop the cistern, and one loaded "ready to burn" in the dispenser. I remember this stuff from schooldays in the 60's, hell my parents remember it from before even then! It's utterly inconceivable that this product is still sold today. Perhaps the manufacturers have a twisted and distorted sense of reality, or an evil sense of humor. In any event, the product doesn't do what it's supposed to do - period. I attended the aforementioned restroom only because I was stricken with an attack of ... Read the complete review

Remember the old days when Izal toilet paper was standard issue for school toilets? No? then you are indeed fortunate my friend. Izal produce two versions of this hideous toilet paper. A continuous roll and a neat little box that fits into a neat little toilet tissue box holder. On paper (pun intended!) this product appears to offer much to the fastidious bottom and front bottom wiper! Not only is it medicated to help kill bacteria and therefore provide better family hygiene, it comes in one colour only - semi opaqued tracing paper clear. Therefore you do not have to spend hours deciding on which colour to use to best enhance your bathroom decor. ... Read the complete review

Oh My GOD!! Just for a lark I decided to put this into the search engine and see what came up. I am unsure whether you can still seriously buy this stuff, but there is a nostalgia website out there on the interwebby selling this! now I really don't want to talk about my toilet habits, but this is for the benefit of the younger generation. Back in the day!!! There will be a generation reading this and remembering this stuff fondly. there will be another generation reading this, remembering how they used to encounter this horrid stuff when visiting a grannie or a great-aunt. there will also be a generation reading this who don't ... This toilet paper is really dangerous to use! You are liable to scratch delicate bits of your anotomy very easily if you use it. It's enough to make your eyes water. It reminds me of public lavatories (before they started using those giant rolls of tissue paper) and school toilets. I think it must have been the cheapest loo paper around and that was why it was always used in schools. (Maybe you're too young to remember this!) This paper comes in rolls or in boxes of nice neat little sheets. It is absolutely useless for the purpose for which it is intended. It is totally non-absorbant and resembles greaseproof paper. The medicated paper (it says on the ... Read the complete review
