OK, toilet tissue, bog roll, loo roll, dunny paper, call it what you will, there are many worse names for it. The one being reviewed here is the famous, or infamous, IZAL medicated! I remember it from my school days, It also brings back memories of my Royal Navy time too, although the latter was printed with "Government Property"! I wish ebay was on the go then, I am sure it would have sold!

I must say I can not recommend this stuff, and there must be a better version, medicated AND soft, now that is a challenge.

The paper itself, is very strong, almost greaseproof in fact, and not at all absorbent. The toilet paper is made and impregnared in Sheffield, and is sold all over the world. I have actually seen this on sale recently in my home town, I did not notice the price.

The history of toilet paper, goes back a long way, to the Medievil Chinese in fact, that was in the sixth century AD! In the westewrn World, out ancestors used many alternatives, including wool, lace, rags, hemp, wood shavings, leaves, moss, and of course corn on the cob!

1871-1883: patents issued for rolled & perforated commercial paper, including toilet paper, dispensed on tubes.

1942: The first two-ply toilet paper was sold.
1943: Novelty toilet paper printed with images of Adolf Hitler. although later, the use of toilet paper in wartime Britain, was officially discouraged due to paper shortages.
1980: the paperless toilet was invented.
2008: 3-ply toilet paper created.
