Advantages: tracing paper
Disadvantages: ouch
When I was little I can only remember izal toilet paper I do not think even if soft toilet paper had been invented then that is was common.
I remember having to go to our outside loo that did not flush, the “ bucket men” used to come ands collect every week.
I used to have to wipe my poor delicate bum on this paper ouch scratchy.
Also at school I had to run across the school playground to visit the loos, I think they were flush the only paper to be found there if you found any was Izal.
I would think my first experience of soft toilet paper was when I was about 7 ish it was heaven in comparison. I think some ancient people who grew up with only izal still prefer to use Izal.
You young things have maybe never experienced Izal toilet paper it is made by jeyes ltd.
It is packaged in a green paper wrapping it makes you think of medicated safe hygienic in fact
it has a white/ pale green cross on it which makes you think of first aid.
Izal is Not chlorine bleached and the paper is from renewable resources
The description on the package uses the words strong, medicated.
The packaging is dull and unattractive the same as it always was when I was a nipper.
This paper is in a roll or can be bought as individual tissues in a box. I think they also make a moist tissue but I have no experience of this.
Now for all you lucky guys out there who have never used this on your delicate posteriors let me tell you what the product looks like.
Well its like a tracing paper a thin paper you can see through. One surface is smooth and shiny and slippery the other is a matt surface a little better for cleaning the messy bits.
The average number of sheets on a roll is 336 each sheet measures 16x 11 cm.
So the use of Izal well its for wiping botties after a visit to the smallest room in my early days this was situated at the bottom of the garden. It is not very effective wiping a dirty bum on slippy slidy paper with little absorbency. It is not pleasant to use its rough and scratchy abrasive takes the top layer of your skin of if you rub hard.
It is useless to use for nose wiping. Makes for a very sore nose. But it makes a wonderful Kazoo fold the paper over a over a comb and blow makes a tuneful sound
Izal is good for using as tracing paper place over your favourite picture and use a pencil to trace the picture, which shows clearly through the paper.
The toilet roll middle could also be used in childs artwork makes include wheels for cars turrets for castles, or you can use t
he tube to demonstrate cylinder rolling.
The tissue boxes also could have a use in child art could be decorated with collage to make a pretty bedside box for your mums bits and pieces.
Over all I would not recommend it for bum wiping unless desperate
If you really do want torture Tesco sell it at 68p for a roll . thanks for reading about the only toilet paper I had experience with as a child oh you young things ah you dont know how lucky you are .!
