WHAT IS IT?
This is a candle that is made by Jo Malone, it is called Wild Bluebell and was gifted to me at Christmas by a client.
The candle is in a glass jar that is very thin and looks a lot more stylish than Yankee Candle jars I think. The lid is thin and silver and it looks very beautiful when I have lit the candle and also when it has been blown out because of how attractive the jar is. The label is very plain but it has got all of the information I would need to decide if I wanted to purchase this candle for myself.
I like the fragrance of this candle very much because it is flowery and a little bit like talcum powder. It has got different flower smells in it and I cannot say that any one of them is bluebell but the fragrance is more like wildflowers than other flowery scents that you would expect to smell in scented candles. It is rich and very gentle but it fills up the whole of my home so that I can smell it everywhere.
WHAT I THINK
This is a very pleasing candle that I like very much but I would not spend so much money on a candle even though the quality is very high. The fragrance is beautiful and it makes my home smell very fresh but it does not last for very long when the candle has been blown out and so you would need to burn the candle for many hours to have fragrance for the whole day.
I think the way the fragrance changes makes it more like a perfume than a scented candle because there smells like lots of different flowery notes instead of it being a flat fragrance like you would think, the smell is more higher quality than Yankee Candle even though it does not last for so long in my home but it is more natural smelling I think.
The candle burns good and the wick does not ever tunnel into the wax or break off into charcoal like happens with Yankee Candle jars sometimes. It has not left any wasted wax on the sides of the jar and now that I have finished burning this candle I can tell you that there is not very much wax that has been left at the bottom of the jar to be wasted.
This candle is sold in 2 sizes of 100g and 200g, my candle is 100g and it has lasted for a long time because I started to burn it in January and it has only just run out. It is very expensive and I think that £35 for a candle is too much because it is the name that you are paying for even though this is a pleasing candle to use.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I was lucky enough to have this candle given to me as a gift last Christmas and I have been burning it sparingly on and off throughout the year, knowing that it is unlikely I could afford to replace it anytime soon! Jo Malone are known for producing higher end amazing scents in perfumes and candles particularly, with this candle costing around £38. It is housed in a heavy glass jar with a silver lid, with the classic Jo Malone label stating the scent on the front of the jar.
The scents in the candle is obviously bluebell, however the Jo Malone candles are designed in the same way perfumes are, with a top note, heart note and base note scent. The top note of this candle is the bluebell, however the heart note is persimmon, giving a peachy tone, followed by the base note of white musk which grounds the overall scent with a slight earthy tone. Overall the candle is notably floral and light, giving a refreshing layer of scent to the room without being too overpowering.
This candle burns down evenly which I like, I hate having a candle which burns down a well in the centre leaving wax at the sides, however this did not happen with this candle, it burnt down completely evenly. The candle is stated on the Jo Malone website as having a burn lifespan of 45 hours and I would agree that this is true, the candle lasts a really long time which is good because it justifies the cost of the candle somewhat.
I find that even when not being burnt if you leave the lid off the candle it will give a light scent to the room, which I particularly enjoyed in the summer as I prefer lighter scents in the hotter months.
5/5 for this candle!
