Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Poor colour accurancy
Recently applied Johnstone's pure brilliant white to primed doors and woodwork around my house. The paint looked white in the tin and when applied. Upon closer inspection, in the light of day and by comparison to actual white - it was anything but white. It was actually a disgusting yellowish ivory colour. I'd followed the instructions on the back and prepared the surfaces ready for painting so the paint is clearly of poor quality. I had to redo all painting again. I paid £3 more for a tin of Crown paint and got what i was looking for - pure white! I covered the same surfaces and more - the difference is amazing and no ivory white insight. I contacted the parent company and they were very dismissive and generally uninterested in my complaint. They suggested it happens and was likely environmental - which it clearly was not. Poor product, poor customer service. For the sake of £3, i recommend avoiding the cheap Johnstone's paint and get a good quality paint - it really is false economy.
Summary: Pay a couple of quid more for the good stuff!
