Advantages: Well made and thick.

Disadvantages: The pictures are waring a bit

If you have read my last review on Kingsmill bread then you will know that they have an offer on at the moment where by, you collect tokens and recieve a number of Wallace and Gromit collectors items. My primary item on the list were these lovely oven gloves because I burnt my hand with mine on the other day. All I can say is don't put your oven gloves on the hob when it's still hot because the heat will burn through the material and cause the gloves to be extremely less effective!

To get my gloves I had to save up 6 tokens and send a cheque for £1 to an address that is provided on the website. Once I did this I was advised that it would take up to six weeks to arrive but they came within 3 weeks which I was quite satisfied with.

The gloves came in a big white jiffy bag and when I pulled them out I was really chuft with the design. They were a really nice turquoise blue all over with a royal blue trim around the openings. On the outside of one was a picture of Wallace in his baking outfit and on the other was Gromit with a big mixing bowl in his hand. There is also the Kingsmill logo sprawled across the bottom. The designs remind me of the iron on material that you can get and they have a slightly rubbery feel to them.

The gloves fit my hands very well despite my fingers being very long. I think they would be suitable for both male and female although I do think they would swamp tiny hands.

I'm not entirely sure what the gloves are made og but they seem pretty standard. They are quite thick and have a stiching effect on the insde of the gloves which divides the material up into lots diamond shapes.

I have used these gloves regularly since I have recieved them and considering they only cost me a pound, I am quite impressed. They have a thick enough material that I can hold a hot baking tray without feeling the brunt of the heat at all and they haven't fallen off like my last one used to. I was a little concerned that I might burn the patterns off as I am a bit scatty when I'm cooking and tend to put oven gloves on the wrong way. I have done this a few times and the pictures are baring up well. They do have a few marks here and there but not as bad as I thought after being under an intensive heat for a few seconds.

The only thing that I will say is that the gloves are covered in food because I tend to put my fingers in my lasagne dish as I try to steady the pyrex bowl when dishing up. I wouldn't want to machine wash them just incase it ruins the picture or the padding shifts to one end of the glove.

Over all I would definately recommend that you sav up the tokens and get yourself a set of these gloves especially if you regularly buy Kingsmill bread anyway.

If you like these gloves then you can also purchase a lunchbox, pencil tin and stationary and a toast rack so get saving!

Summary: A great purchase at just one pound.
